Yes, the shot should effect this period...It should lighten up significantly over the next couple of days.
Every woman is different, but I would guess that no, you won't have your period next month.
I have been on depo for about 10 years now...It's my favorite!!! Just got my shot earlier this week. I haven't had a period since I started the process (and NO, I don't miss it!).

When I went on it, it lightened up the next few months then went to spotting when I should have had a period. After about six months, it stopped all together :) And has stayed gone since. Love that side effect!

Most women don't get it while they are on Depo..or they just spot. This period will probably end really quick.

Yeah, it usually takes several shots before you quit bleeding.

when i was on the shot i stopped getting my period at all.......which was wonderful
