Regardless of what others are telling you, he's ready for potty training. My daughter started getting interested in the potty when she was 18months old. At two and a half, she's totally trained. Even though she wasn't always interested in the potty (and pee in her diaper didn't bother her), I always respected her interest. She always had her potty out, so when she wanted to go, she could. Even though I never pushed her or forced her, I think it actually helped her. I let her go at her own pace and she was less resistant to trying it.

take his cue and as soon as he takes off his diaper get out the potty and if he uses it make a big deal, clap hands, say yay and let him know he had done something very good. i have raised 2 children, a girl and boy and my daughter was potty trained a 18 months and my son at 2. he may have gotten to the point of not liking the feel of poop in his diaper against his skin. potty training doesn't magically happen overnight so i suggest starting with the poop training now and see where that leads. it may take months. i don't think he is too young at all. think of the money you will save on diapers. i am english, but live in california now and it seems to me that europeans do not wait as long as americans do to potty train. they do have alot of potty training aids in the diaper and wipes isles at target though. go for it. above all don't get angry and anxious as you will frighten and upset him and he will shy away from the process and who knows when he willl safe enough to try again. you don't want a 10 year old in daipers(JK!)make it fun! hey, you can do a mini conga line and sing, "no more poopy diapers, no more poopy diapers", he will think this is fun and you will be on your way to "no more poopy diapers!"

I think he's ready for the potty. Obviously if he's REALLY not interested in it you have to be a little creative in getting him to sit there! We put ours in front of the tv, and we had a Bear in the Big Blue House "Potty Time" video we put on to pass the time. You can also buy a "Potty Time" book at Wal Mart (with flushing sounds! a big hit!) and read that to/with your son. Girls typically train around two, boys typically train later, but that's obviously just a guideline. If he takes his diaper off BEFORE he poops he's ready!

Definately get a pottie, put it in the floor explain what it is for and let him go to the bathroom with Dad and tell him its so he can see how Dad does it.
Mine pottie trained at that age with no fuss.
Leave the pottie out but don't put any pressure on him to use it,, explain what its for and tell him you will come help him wipe when he uses it. If he loses interest in it,, put it up while he is watching,, tell him let me know when you want to use this and I will get it out again.
They understand far more than you think,,, both of mine asked for their pottie in a couple weeks after I did this and we never had pottie problems.

Sounds like he's ready for potty training. My son is the same age, and somtimes pees in the potty. I myself was potty trained at 14 months. Try him on the potty. Use a reward system if he goes in the potty
