I'm not trying to go against the law, my father just said it had to do with body weight, and it just puzzles me that I cant drink as much as my mother, and we are the same weight.......

It is not matter or body weight this is the matter of you body system could it handle it or not. Like delicate things has to be handle with care nothing more than that. Our system is not strong enough before that age and we just get aggressive with or sometime without any issue before 21.

Because the law is determined by age, not by weight. It is made because hopefully they are more mature at 21, though I think it is becoming quite evident that this is not the case.

Their brain is not fully developed and alcohol can cause growth problems.

Well if you are the same body weight, then your Mom has built up a resistance to the alcohol.

ask president reagan he move the total legal age to 21 across the board. it used to be that at 18 you could buy 3.2 but when they changed the law in the 80's teenage dui deaths dropped so maybe that has something to do with it

for legal matters. I believe just in case you are drinking while driving you are charged as an adult and with the age requirement they expect you to be alot more responsible with drinking.

So by your theory if a 10 year old is 110 pounds which is heavier than my wife he should be able to drink? Wow, what an intelligent question....

It's a maturity thing. Under 21 year olds can't handle it, for that matter most older people can't either.
