ac28: That is really sad that I know your beliefs better than you do. Maybe you should pay closer attention in bible study.

Blade: He made the light, yes. But the sun did not come until after the plants. It came with the other stars.

Poutine, WWJB is not a Christian. His is a troll answer.
Okay, there was light and darkness before plant life. The sun, moon and stars were created on the fourth day along with the plant life. My guess is that they survived with the light and darkness that constituted day and night in verses 3-5.
Notice everything necessary to sustain animal life is present before animals and humans are created.
Sometimes what people think are discrepancies are specifications.
I don't know what the light was that preceded sunlight. But there was light and there was darkness and water and earth - all things necessary to sustain plant life (which would include nutrients in the soil) when plant life was created.

Genesis' value is as a redaction of two separate Hebrew creation mythologies (known as P and J) into a story of the fall of humankind. It is not an Audubon field guide to prehistory.
Plants evolved from archobacteria that developed the ability to be photosynthetic. At the time this happened, the Sun was a two billion year old yellow star. So not to worry about the sunlight...

Because in a perfect system no energy is wasted.
Maybe the plants care less about that trifle than you do.

Did you ever leave your plants in a darkened room for 24 hours?
Anyway, it's a myth.

" We don't need to understand anything. All we need to know is that it happend and that God did it."
That is what drives me nuts about the religious!
They don't want any facts or to understand anything!
