As a community, what do we need? Is it buildings/churches/gathering places? More clergy? Councellors? Hospital and Prison ministries? More opportunities for networking? More Pagan lawyers, politicians, etc? Better PR? Or absolutely nothing? What do you think?

I agree with just about everything. Have the lonely folks tried Witchvox.com?

Heh, you build me a town I'll come, I'm too broke for that right now.

I ask these questions because I'm going to Seminary (Cherry Hill) and I seem to already be acting in a leadership role (through no fault of my own, I'm sure) so I am just wondering what things I should be focusing on. I am also a writer.

There are some... yet a number of them tend to get by ability of on the classic shoestring budget. The variety of Pagans with disposable earning to offload into the community nevertheless isn't all that huge. extra uncomplicated, from what i've got considered, is that there is a few sort of section community, and that they "borrow" some area on the interior of sight Pagan save/and so on. i'm uncertain there is sufficient call for for an entire-time community midsection, however some ingenious persons could be waiting to discover a fashion able with a great sufficient inhabitants. It additionally would not help that the community is particularly of a dysfunctional relatives, the place some communities won't refer to others with the aid of character conflicts or religious ameliorations - whether there is sufficient bodies in a close-by, in the event that they are able to't play exact at the same time, that is demanding to get them to help something like that.

With the exception of "absolutely nothing", I think for the most part you have answered your own question. In my own Pagan opinion I feel we need more community in general. We need more Pagan people willing to stand up and say "Hey, I'M PAGAN!!!" once this starts happening more we can then start focusing more energy toward all of the other things you mentioned. As for "As a community, what do we need?" Community is the answer.
I do my best to actually promote community in my lil section of Pagandom here in NC. Visit link below for more info.

I think we need a way to find other pagans in our area without being laughed at. I myself live in a small town am 27 years old, married, a mother and still hiding in the "broom closet". I know that there must be others like me somewhere around here just who and where the heck are they??
Blessed Be.

We need a Pagan Politician. A Pagan President sounds nice. :) But, everything is what we need. Also, we need to be more accepted. I'm tired of being yelled at by kids at school for it. :( OH! A country of Pagans. (Japan doesn't count. :P)

First we need others (non-pagans) to be more accepting. Barring that.
All of the above, but particularly more gatherings or networking opportunities.

It's pretty fine the way it is... All those things you mention exist, and it is just a matter of finding them if you are interested. Otherwise, I'm fine with not thrusting myself into the limelight... unlike certain zealots of another popular sect from this very site that you are sure to hear from....

You do realize you're practically inviting the christian fundies to attack you with 'you need god' slogans right? Pagan's need what they've always needed... a nice little seat out of the spotlight where we can sit and watch all the god people kill each other.
