What should be the laws on who stays and who doesn't?

Who picks? What should the requirments be? How can we make sure the very poor of Mexico get a chance-because on the whole their not (studies show this)?
And yes border control is a must.

Well we already know there not going to all have to leave. so we do need to consider this. They should have guidelines. Ones who have children born here should stay, If their or any one is going to use welfare thye need to be forced to work untill they are on their feet, they should also be given a certain amount of time, to be able to take care of them selves. If a participant on welfare gets preganant a second time while on these services, something should happen to be said this is not ok. Before granting amnesty they should be screened, those who have commited violent crimes or any kind of sex crime should do their time then be deported (unfortunately not all sex crimes are considered very serious) While here if they commit one of these crimes then the same for them.
I am for amnesty but not for ppl who commit violent crimes.
Secure our borders.

if you are here illegally then 1) you must immediately start the paperwork process to gain legal citizenship 2) you must enroll and start classes to learn English within 7-10 days 3) you must actively seek employment and if you do not have a job within 30-60 days if these requirements are not met you should be deported and not allowed to enter back in the US or even TRY to gain citizenship again for 1-3 years, and then you MUST already know how to speak english, and at least have a good lead on a job.

Well I have said-
Secure the border
Screen the illegals
Deport the undesirables
Give the rest Amnesty
The undesirables would be anyone with a criminal record.Identity theft,DWI,drug charges,family violence,etc.Minor traffic violations wouldn't matter.Mexico(as an ex.) should also work with us to see if they have criminal records there and also to see if they are suspects in any crimes.They should be able to work.They would have to have basic knowledge of English.And I think they should have to pay $400. for each person that gets amnesty that isn't an American citizen("anchor baby")that amount because I read that that is how much it costs to apply for citizenship(i think?).They should not be able to sponsor anyone that wants to migrate here.I kinda want to say that maybe they should have been here for like 5 yrs.But how would you determine that?
There should be NO guest worker program.They should make it easier to immigrate here legally.

If your not a child molester,rapist,drug dealer,murderer,general delinquent,or any other kind of bad person then you should get the chance to stay here.I say,screen them and see who is able to stay here.Then,pack up all our felons and move them to another country.And yes,border control is a must.

It should be that we should actually keep an eye, and NOT JUST BECUASE OF MEXICANS, because of 9/11, we must watch who comes here and be smart. Letting Mexicans isn't all that bad, but as as American law, I think that you should legalize yourself, but if you are touring that is ok, but people think the U.S is getting overcrowded, it's not and there is plenty here, just have to be smart, not racist.
