Church people murdered millions of non-believers during the Crusades and the Inquisitions. You didn't have to convince anyone to put money in your collection plates, you just executed them if they didn't. Are you upset that things aren't as easy for you anymore?

The Bible writes about "Gospel grinders", that's who those people were. Jesus said freely have ye received, freely give. (the Gospel)

I will not defend those church people and their force-fed ways of spreading the Gospel , but I will say this, they burned witches at the stake, and naturally some amount of innocent persons got labeled witches and were subsequently burnt as well.

What about Judas Iscariot, one may ask? He handled all the money (so that they could survive) doesn't this mere fact tell you anything about his character? Greedy! He sold Jesus.

I'm not bitter, I don't want your money and I wouldn't dream of trying to convince you to do ANYTHING, let alone putting money in any collection plate.

Jesus said whosoever will may come, also he that hath an ear to hear, let him hear.

Regardless of you being an un-believer, God still LOVES you.

Dear wwjb,
It wasn't Christians who killed non-believers it's just recorded in history that way. If they (who did the killing) were true Christians they would not have even thought of doing so in the first place. This is a good example of what happens when you claim Christ but don't truly live for Him, both ends get hurt. They may have claimed Christ but from their actions i don't feel they were where they needed to be with The Lord. Oh, by the way it's not Church people it's Christians. And another thing it's about more than just tithing( the collection plates) it's about a relationship with Jesus Christ, I'd get to know your subject a little more better. God bless.

I have an interesting parallel. The punishment in hell is supposed to be FIRE. And what was the method of execution during the inquisition? FIRE!
I'm confused. Is it God or the church that carries out this fire punishment? Or do Christians see themselves and God as being one in the same? Why did the church wait until 1990 to apologize for the burnings? Why do they still burn others in spirit, if they don't guess the riddle (about God) the same way?
I'm reminded of small children bickering. "I guessed the riddle 'right' so I should get all the cake and none for Johnny."

sure, that's authentic. There are a pair concepts for non-believers contained in the Koran truly. they'll both be killed or ought to pay a tax and be matters to the Muslims. (the merely reason given for not killing nonbelievers is in the adventure that they are commonly of a few income) less than the Koran, it truly is the pastime of a real Muslim to transform, dominate, or kill nonbelievers. that is honorable to them. non violent faith, Huh? do not get me incorrect. i'm not attempting to attack Muslims. in truth, i trust God loves them merely as a lot as he loves me. yet, it truly is not a non violent faith like the media tries to make out. A Muslim who denies that would not stay with assistance from the Koran.

No.

Dude...if you are going to make outrageous claims, please at least get your facts right. It took the secularists such as Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot to kill tens of millions. The crusades and Inquisition killed hundreds of thousands. (And a great many of the killed in the Crusades were believers.)

Are you as a secularist bitter because you cannot put Jews and Christians (or people of any non-National Socialist faith in Hitler's regime) in the gas chambers of Auschwitz, the gulags of Soviet Russian, or the cultural re-education camps of Maoist China?

Just what is your beef? I feel sorry for you. Do you think or are you trying to incite Christians with the questions you ask?

If you want to find out if what we believe is true, ask God to reveal Himself to you. Ask Christ into your heart and mean it and then sit back and watch. That is, if it is really from your heart.

I feel you are a very lonely and angry individual. Where does your anger come from? Do you want to be done with it? Do the above.

You're not going to get anything in the spiritual area of Answers except prayer. Maybe that's what you want. Is it?

No, I as a Christian, am not bitter that we cannot do that, or would I ever want to do that. But I as a Christian, am somewhat bitter, at the men who called themselves Christians, at one time, who did do that....edit.... they were followers of the church, that all the churches today, came out of. And that church has since then, reformed. But as Christians we are all equally guilty.

Yep, I was so dissappointed when we stopped doing that! It was lots of fun. Ooops, sorry, guess that was way before my time, or anyone elses. That was the catholic church, I'm not catholic anyway, so it really only applies to 1,000 year old catholic priests, right? Let me know if you find any. Guilt only works if you've actually participated in the particular deed you're suppose to feel guilty for.

No. I think everyone should make their personal decision. Yes, I want to spread the Word, but not in the way of violence.

And many non-believers killed Christians for their beliefs.
