I'm 5'8 and 135 pounds. Would you consider that to be overweight? I'm trying to eat healthier. This morning I ate some grapes and strawberries, and for lunch I ate broccoli and zuchinni (Spelling?) slices. (All uncooked, raw...)

But I already don't drink soda, and I DO drink lots of water. And the weight still won't come off. Because I know how soda has so much sugar and all in it. I try not to eat too much sugar, either. I'm 16, by the way.

you are actually underweight...
to calculate for ideal body weight is start with 100 pounds with a 5"0 frame... then add 5 pounds per inch. since you're 5"0 (100 lbs) and 8", 8x5 = 40 so that's 140 lbs for you. and don't forget, there is like a 15 to 20 allowance for that (usually for older women).
however im concerned about your perception of your own body. just eat healthy to maintain that weight, but don't starve yourself. you need to incorporate protein in your diet and it looks like you haven't been eating much -- eat a little bit more and take mulitivitamins. drink lots of water to prevent dehydration.

No, I do not think you are overweight. Eating more veggies and fruit is good but if you change your diet suddenly to include mostly these foods, you might end up giving yourself diarrhea. Continue with the fresh stuff but don't forget to add some protein (fish, chicken without the skin, egg) and it wouldn't hurt to have a bowl of high fiber cereal. The key is to keep your fats and sweets to a minimum. If you want to eat less meat, then try putting some sliced cooked chicken, or shrimp, or hard boiled egg into a fresh salad. Good luck with your healthier eating!

Add some protien and small amounts of carbs. You sound like you are at a good weight. I weighed 135 and I am the same height as you when I was younger and they told me I needed to exersize a little more and not to cut my food intake. I am sure you are fine. Just try some pilates and yoga, they will help you feel a lot better about your body. It is good to start your day out with some yoga or something like that just to help your day be a little clearer. Don't worry, you sound like your weight is right on!

I would say you are not overweight. But your eating style has to change. You need to be eating from the food peromid not what you think will make you lose weight. I just lost 35 pounds and all I did was eat and eat but cut out sugar and soda pop ,even diet soda pop.

No you are not overweight you are actually pretty thin for 5'8'. I'm 5'3 and my ideal weight is 135 and that was told to me by my doctor. Soif you are 5'8 you could probably stand to gain 5 or 10 pounds. It's Ok.

You must be a female. Anyways, that's a solid weight. If I were you, I would be more concerned with how you feel rather than how much you weigh.

you won't lose weight by depriving yourself of a balanced diet.
if you eat so much raw food you will soon run out of salt.
lethargy and diarrhea will result

It sounds just right, or even UNDERWEIGHT to me. If you are working out, muscle mass is pretty dense and can cause the number to be higher than you think it should be.
