I hear this all the time from people who can't stand to be criticized, even indirectly.
The murderer who asks, "Who are you to judge?"
The thief who steals because he is poor, and doesn't like the way he is treated in life. When confronted with his crimes he says, "Who are you to judge us poor people?"
The slob who arrives late for a job interview, acts in a disrespectful manner, and when you try to help him out with hints on being more successful replies, "Who are you to judge?"
The cheating husband who claims his wife doesn't deserve a faithful husband because she is a b****. When you tell him that his behavior is reprehensible he replies, "Who are you to judge?"
The politician who takes bribes and looks down on the little people as being unworthy to judge his behavior.
The terrorist who kills innocent women and children in the name of his cause, and when you criticize him he replies that you have no right to judge him.
Any other group which tries to stifle debate about the harmful effects of what they are doing by trying to make you feel guilty for judging.
Certainly there are times when it is wrong to judge individuals, because we never know all of the facts, but it is wrong to assume that we cannot make judgments on right and wrong. We can judge types of behavior. We can and must make judgments about people when it affects are safety and that of our children or others we have a responsibility for. We can and ought to make judgments about who to trust with our money, time, and love.
A great many people quote the Bible incorrectly. The Bible says judge righteously. The Bible recognizes that we must judge people.

When you say Judge people are you asking if we have the right to condemn them if we think they are wrong? Or if we have the right to rejoice when they are right? When the Bible speaks of judge not lest the be judged, it is a context of condemnation. In order to appreciate good we must be able to judge or discern good from evil. We cannot just walk around saying everything is ok because the bible say judge not! Yes you can judge people on a personal level, you cannot condemn them. If they are not following God then they are already condemned. Judge and pray, if you must judge

Only as it applies to the laws written by the legislature and courts, which (according to the constitution, anyway) are made up of our peers. These are the man-made laws we govern ourselves with to avoid caos and anarchy (usually bad things to be avoided... I like getting a paycheck and buying stuff at Target).
Judging people on moral grounds is a whole other bag of fish. We do not have that authority.

Yes, we do. As long as we give them a right to have a fair defense, and a right for them to judge us as well.
That's the basis of democracy and fairness.
We would all love to have an uber-perfect God in the skies telling us what to do and what to believe, but the truth is that we don't have one, and if we do, he certainly doesn't want to spoil us by telling us what to do.
Being rational beings is not only a gift, but also a responsability. We have to take care of the consequences of our actions, and that means considering things well before we do them.
Being rational humans, however, also means that we have to learn how to correct, and how to forgive, our mistakes and those who commit them.

I have found that when I am taking care of my own life and soul I do not have time or the inclination to judge others. I figure if someone is doing something I myself have done, how can I expect them to know any better than I did. If it is something I have never done or even thought about doing, then I am clueless.

I think it depends on the situation. I believe I have a right to judge whether or not someone is generally safe to be around my kids or family or things like that.
I don't believe we have the right to judge other people's faith or tell them what they believe is invalid.

We don't have the right to Judge. God does, people who Judge are disobeying God. Cause if you Judge you get Judged right back. God bless.

i believe it is wrong to judge anyone by saying, "your sinning and now your going to go to hell". because if we say that then we might as well just look in a mirror and say it to ourselves. for some reason we imperfect humans think that we have the right to say when someone else is doing something wrong when we do the exact same thing, but God Who is perfect and just doesn't judge anyone, He just loves them.

Absolutely not. The Bible says to stop looking at specs on other people when you have a plank in your eye.
God is the only one who can judge. And He will one day...I hope your prepared for your trial....
