Some Christians believe they will be Raptured: That they will be taken up to the clouds by God, leaving their cars and belongings behind. If we accept this as true, should they be allowed to operate vehicles or heavy machinery? Isn't it a danger to the rest of us if they are 'raptured' while driving? After all, we don't allow people with certain disabilitys to drive, because if they lose control of their car that's dangerous. What do you think?

More importantly, isn't it sinful for such people to so recklessly place others in danger by driving. Anyone who actually believes in the rapture and drives nonetheless, is displaying a wanton disrespect for the lives of others. Is that what Jesus would do?

I am a Christian too and i think this is hilarious!! I have shown this to everyone. Good one!
oh yea and just an FYI
The word "rapture" does not occur in the Bible. The concept of the Rapture, though, is clearly taught in Scripture. The Rapture of the church is the event in which God removes all believers from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgment to be poured out on the earth during the Tribulation period. The Rapture is described primarily in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 describes the Rapture as God resurrecting all believers who have died, giving them glorified bodies, and then departing the earth with those believers who were still alive, who have also been given glorified bodies. "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

1 Corinthians 15:50-54 focuses on the instantaneous nature of the Rapture and on the glorified bodies we will receive. "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). The Rapture is the glorious event we should all be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in God's presence forever. There is far too much debate over the meaning and scope of the Rapture. This is not God’s intent. Rather, in regards to the Rapture, God wants us to “encourage each other with these words.”

Very funny. Disabilities can be proven. The rapture can not. So they allow people to drive. I guess if anything, it's more motivation, for those of you who don't want to die from unmanned vehicles because of rapture, to find the Lord, so that you too can be raptured instead of killed by a cement truck who's driver was raptured.

I am a Christian who believes in the rapture and I was going to say what the other poster said. This is the best and funniest question I have ever seen here. You should win the points. Maybe I should turn in my license, huh? You now have me thinking about all of the situations we could be doing at that time. I would hate it to happen at the exact moment I was served a delicious plate of macaroni and cheese. lol

What does the Bible say about the Secret Rapture?

“No single verse specifically states Christ will come before the Tribulation.”
Tim LaHaye (author of “Left Behind”)

Friends the belief in the SECRET RAPTURE is a dangerous doctrine because it is not Biblical. Please read with an open mind. Nowhere in the scriptures does it make any reference of a “SECRET RAPTURE”. Many people reference I Thessalonians 4 but they don’t actually read the whole chapter read verse 16.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a SHOUT, with the VOICE of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last Trump: for the TRUMPET shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. I Corinthians 15:52

These are some of the nosiest verses in the Bible how can it be a secret?

“No single verse specifically states Christ will come before the Tribulation.”
Tim LaHaye (author of “Left Behind”)

Where is the scripture that says “7 years of Tribulation”?

It cannot be found, because it is not in the Bible

Did God save Noah from the flood or through it

Did God save Israel from the plagues or through them

Did God save Daniel from the lions den or through it

But doesn’t the Bible say that the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night?

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which THE HEAVENS SHALL PASS AWAY with a GREAT NOISE, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be BURNED up. II Peter 3:10

He comes as thief because it catches people by surprise.

What does the Bible say will happen when Jesus comes back

For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Matt 24:27

Everyone will see it you can’t miss it

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people: “Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
Psalms 50:3

I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void; And the heavens, they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled, And all the hills moved back and forth. I beheld, and indeed there was no man, And all the birds of the heavens had fled. I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness, And all its cities were broken down At the presence of the LORD, By His fierce anger. Jeremiah 4:26

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 24:30,31
since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. II Thessalonians 1:6-8

1 angel rolled away the stone and 100 Roman soldiers collapsed in fear like dead men.

1 angel killed almost 200,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night

Jesus is coming with all his angels who will take flaming fire vengeance how can this be a secret?

But doesn’t the Bible say 1 shall be taken and 1 shall be left?

Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. Matt 24:28

Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.” And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?”
So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.” Luke 17:36, 37

Notice how Jesus answers where the body and the vultures are gathered. The vultures devouring the flesh because those “Left Behind” will be dead.

The secret Rapture was created by a Catholic monk named Ribera. It was supposed to be used in the Counter Reformation, but no one believed it.

There is no Secret Rapture when Jesus comes he comes in glory the world does not go on for 7 years. When Jesus comes probation for sinners is over. We need to be ready now. Life does not continue on Earth after Jesus comes.

God Bless

I think that you should think about what you believe. Do you believe in God? If not what are you worried about? I believe in God and that he sent his son to die on the cross for our sins and that one day I will be raptured. Just look around what keeps the sun, moon, and stars in the sky? What keeps the earth from spinning off its axis. When a seed gets put in the ground how do you think it grows, on its on? Nothing would be possible without God. Where do you think we came from? We had to come from somewhere. I hope that you will find Jesus.

Anyone who believes in something as goofy as a "rapture" probably needs all kinds of medical intervention. That's like saying, "I don't need to worry about stopping at red lights, because I'm a christian and god won't let me get hit by other cars."
Sheesh! Human nature is so gulible!

First of all when we (christians) are raptured whether or not we are driving or not is going to be the least of your worries. When Jesus comes back he's coming back to judge us. This means you to whether you are christian or not. Think about that. When the rapture happens non christians are gonna face something worse than they could ever imagine. HELL!

I would think that if God was gonna Rapture someone off the earth, he'd have the power and the good sense to stop their car or whatever...
So yah, we can allow them to still drive... ;)

Hmmm. What do I think? I think you're a moron. If you read the "Left Behind" series, you would know that those who are "raptured" do not cause problems when it happens. And you're assuming it will happen now... no one knows when the rapture will occur (if ever). It's like punishing blacks for crimes they haven't yet committed based on the fact that they commit more crimes per capita.

Well we will just have to take that chance now wont we. I personally am skeptical of the rapture myself, being a christian who hasnt found it in scripture saying that its truly going to happen. Its like saying no one can drive because there is that chance they can have a heart attack and wreck.
