protection, to alert you to visitors, to share affection with, they can also be very amusing, and entertaining... pets have also been shown to lower your blood pressure... so they are great for your health too!

When i was growing up, we had a small standard poodle. She did pretty much as a house boy, for very little pay.
She brought in the newspaper (gave it only to Dad), brought him his slippers, took notes back and forth to all in the house, played the piano, which enertained guests, took the hairbrush back and forth from mom, sis and me. told parents when kids were fighting, kept the neighbors chicken out of the garden, found all 5 kids and herded them to dinnertime, and many other tasks. She enjoyed every minute of it and never complained.

Well dogs can help in these ways:
1.They can be trained to help people do laundry,open doors,reach things on the floor,those are the things dogs can be trained to do for people in need of help.
2.They can guard your children from predators while there outside.And they can guard you property
dogs can also do LOADS of other stuff.
Cats can help in these ways:
1.They can keep your house safe from pests such as,mice,rats,snakes,gophers,badgers,and other pests.
2.They can be law full and soul companions.

One thing is that if you have a dog that has a "big dog bark" then they can scare away burglars. And remember I didn't say a big dog, I said a dog with a bark of a big dog. Like my dog, he is a Pomeranian [ he is really foo-foo] and he has bark that would scare away a burglar.

pets have been known to releve stess and make people calm and happy. dogs can protect you from burglers, and cats cann catch mice... our cat only torutures the mouse though never actually killed it...
