I agree. Now that he's dead, their will also be a power struggle inside Iraq's branch of al-Qaeda. I'm glad he's dead, but it can only get worse.

I don't care all that much for Biden, he votes with Republicans on many issues, that said he is very well informed on many issues.
He is right on the Money about Civil War in Iraq, it will go on for 10 years. Look at Afghanistan now, it's a mess also. Iraqis prefer a Islamic republic form of Government, they hate democracy. In the end Iran will control Iraq from within Iraq. Iran will be the big winner. The Iraq war will cost American tax payers $2 trillion over the next ten years and the wealthy get the tax cuts so guess who pays. The Saudis are very smart they got USA tax payers to pay to defend them twice.

Well, Zarqawi was mainly responsible for trying to foment civil war in Iraq. In the short term, it should be a heavy blow (I hope). They may be readily able to replace him or not.
Just because someone opposes the "war" in Iraq doesn't mean they are rooting for the US to fail. Many, like myself, felt we never should have invaded Iraq but since we are there, hope the mission (whatever it is) is successful. That's the real question/issue, isn't it? How do we know when the mission has succeeded or failed.
There are a billion plus muslims, many of whom are quite fanatical. Are we willing to take the time and pay the price of trying to exterminate them all?
In fact, the only thing preventing a civil war was Saddam's regime. Just like The balkans under the USSR. Now that there is a vacuum, people and groups are rushing to fill it. The Kurds hate the Sunnis who hate the Shiites, who hate... Step your foot in sh** and its going to come out smelling bad.

Just like Zarquawi there are other foreign insurgents trying to promote civil war in Iraq by attacking Shites. Their hope is the Shites will seek revenge on the Sunni within Iraq. So far the civil war the anti-Bush left is touting has not happened as the Iraqis can see through this tactic.

It is in the Democrats' interest for us to be doing poorly in this war, so they will steadfastly refuse to acknowledge anything positive or let anything be seen as a success. Luckily for them, with the major media acting as their propaganda arm, they are able to keep the mentally lazy and the Dem true believers fooled.
No, this is a very significant event, and will have a deleterious effect on the insurgency. Despite the wishes to the contrary of the left.

Zarqawi's death will have a short-term impact, as his forces seek to regroup. But the sectarian violence could actually get worse as various factions attempt to gain control of Qaeda in Iraq.
There may be a "competition" among them to see who can be the most brutal in order to prove their "worthiness". This is one prediction I would be very glad to be wrong about.
I think Biden is more or less correct. The insurgents will attack Americans as long as we remain, regardless of who is leading the show.

Biden is a P.O.S. with a hidden (or not so hidden) agenda. He is angling for a Presidential run and really has no power.

Well I'm sure that if the DNC talking points keep giving hope to the enemy they might just make it happen.
