It is certainly the easiest on your body, in comparison to all other types of exercise. It also works all muscles, not just select few as some exercising does. And it is fun and you don't get sweaty!!

Swimming is good because it's a cardio workout, and it also works your muscles without being as hard on your body. Someone who has bad knees can't run 3 miles cuz the impact on his legs would be too much but he could swim cuz there is no force being put on his legs. I much prefer swimming to any other workout, plus its way more fun.

Best for cardio and joints.
It is not that intense as others but if you do it 3 times per week, you can see the diiference! Plus I like people in swim wear:)
If you want muscles, forget it but if you want to tone/shape your body or back problems..it is good! Depends what you prefer.

For aerobic benefit, it certainly ranks up there. Because so many muscles are involved, you get a great aerobic work-out with less perceived effort than many other types of exercise.

If you are trying to lose weight, it may not be the best choice. The temperature and buoyancy of the water seems to slow the weight loss benefit.

Pros - low impact, great for the entire body,

Cons - need a pool (expensive), must know how to swim, more dangerous than other exercise (chance of drowning)

It is, yes, because it exercises all important parts of the body at the same time while being in water, which itself has healing and therapeutic qualities.

swimming is supposed to be good for your back, and easier on the knees than running.

I like it because I love the water, and you work out almost all your muscles at once.
