The minimum recommended amount of space is 15 GB, and it's the subject of much debate as to what Vista actually uses that for.

The download is an ISO file of Windows Vista Beta 2, which is about 3.5 gigabytes (GB) for the 32-bit edition or 4.4 GB for the 64-bit edition. - and make sure you have lots of ram and a fast CPU.
Don't buy a new PC for Xmas and expect it to have Vista installed, as the release date has been again deferred to at least Feb 2007.

minimum 4 Gb.. but 15 gb is recommended... this is minimum... Since Vista is going to be Best release and effort of Microsoft till yet... it'll take huge space and offers mind blowing facilities... it's different from it's beta edition that is currently available but Vista requirements are higher than anyother application Yet..
