He was given a sponge full of vinegar (Matthew 27:48) Scientifically, the vinegar has stimulating effects on the body, yet the Gospels say Jesus immediately died after drinking the vinegar.

1)Jesus turned away when they gave Him vinegar
2)He began suffering the weight of the worlds sins from Gethsemane (hence the sweating blood) which accelerated his death
3) He was beaten numerous times (in the during his first trial then by pilate) and forced to carry his cross
4) He had been up since Thursday. if we look at other places in the Bible we see Jesus regularly got up to pray hours before sunrise. So add exhaustion to the above mentioned items.

WHAT?! what are you saying?! Jesus was slouged, look that up for a definition, beaten, and a lot of bad things! a normal human would be dead already, then he had to carry his cross, and at the same time getting hurt and he had a crown of thorns nailed into him, then was left on the cross to die, but then rose from the dead!!! he never died quickly, he died on the cross to save our sins, he never said that he die from drinking vinegar!!!! where did you get that from?

He may have died shortly after getting the vinegar, but death by Crucifixion took hours to do. The bible may seem to "shorten" the time he took to die, but it took a while, not to mention he was paying for the sins of every one and not his own.... That in itself could kill a normal man very quickly if you think about it...

I must remind you that Jesus, was tortured at last up to 18 hours prior to being nailed to the cross. Jesus was whipped, deprived of sleep, food, and drink, berated, cursed at, put on trial at least twice really abused by the crowd, and guards, and we have no idea of what his blood loss was. we also don't know what filth he was covered with. Now do you think that maybe just maybe this a heavy contribution to his dying quickly?

Actually it doesn't say immediately as if to imply anything other than it actually preceded his death. But even so the most important fact in the scripture is Jesus was crucified and rose again, to redeem mankind.

He'd already been scourged, beaten, and hanging on a cross for several hours. Stimulation doesn't always make things better.
