I recently heard that they do not arrest fathers for non-payment of child support any more. I live in PA, I am not sure if it was for this state only or everywhere. Serious responses only please, this is a serious matter, children are suffering.

Sometimes. My ex has been a deadbeat for 9 years now and the state refuses to do anything to him. They won't even garnish his wages and he is a government employee.

Arkansas still arrest them but not very often i have been divorced from my kids dad 6 yrs and in that time he seldome pays they take his taxes each year and once i was able to have what they call a body tag put on him where he was arrested... I don't know about your state but here if you do not stay on top of child support enforcment they pretty much let your case be ignored... however call em on a regualr basis and they have a tendency to remember that you do care about justice being served and will speed up the process for ya

I am sure that they do. There are just a lot of steps that they take before arresting the father. Father's receive numerous opportunities to pay...then his taxes are taken (assuming he gets a federal/state refund), his license are suspended, he has a court hearing, then last but not least he can get jail time. It is a tedious process that is not fair for the mothers. It is my understanding that they seldom arrest the fathers and it takes Child Support Enforcement a really long time to take any action.

In Canada, they have a deadbeat dad payment program. It is all registered with an enforcement program. They pay the program it is logged with them. If they don't pay they can't renew their drivers licence/get car insurance/get a passport etc. It makes their lives a living hell. You may need to get to the family maintence people, and talk to a case worker. Good Luck

Check your local family code. Most states arrest, suspend DL or both.
