There's a brilliant program called Ccleaner. I use it so it must be idiot proof.
www.ccleaner.com
Defragment the hard drive, go to Start - Accessories - System Tools - Defragment.
Also, try storing big files like images on a separate partition, or preferably a separate drive such as an external hard drive. Pc's do slow down as you start to use them and I think to an extent its unavoidable.

Believe it or not there is not one decent piece of software out there that totally cleans a computer. One program does this, another software does that. Ashampoo Winoptimiser is not bad but it dont clean the registry properly and it dont clean all cookies and it no good on internet explorer. A free program called winspeed is about the best backed up with Adaware and spybot

These programs who have run are indeed good at removing redundant files but that wont actually boost the speed of your pc have you clean ur registry lately or defragmented the registry that alone will speed the pc also you couls try running a free ram program if your running xp pro try free xp ram you can download this from www.download.com also try xp tools super utilities wintools.net professional wwhich optimise all your pc and internet settings these are also free to download fron www.download.com windows is known to lose memory when you open and use programs so a good ram free program and registery clean should sort all your problems one.I use all these programs myself and i recommend them.I hope this has been of some help to you.

microsoft beta spyware was voted one of the best program on a computer mag. (i think pc world or pc mag)- and its FREE.

It also willhelp if you go to start-->Programs-->accessories..-->system tools and then click defragment.

DO this before you go to bed since it can take awhile, especally if you never did this before.

You should defrag once a year MINIUMN. Depending on your installations, uninstallations, every 3 months would be good.

most clean up programmes add to the virus so be very careful , go to a big brand shop and ask , they are usually the best people
