That "over/under 18" comment made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm 24 by the way. Old people DO think you don't know anything about love if you're not 35 or above.

I should say "Some" as I do realize not all older people think this way. My boss is in his 50s and he is very supportive and understanding. He doesn't think he's smarter than me when it comes to love and I really appreciate that about him.

I'm 43 and I don't think that. Feeling love or knowing love isn't restricted by age. If you feel it, no one has the right to tell you that you don't based on your age. That's just stupid. Don't let it get to you.

35? I don't say that...But I do believe that you learn more as you age. The problem is that most younger people can't separate the emotion from the common sense. They make decisions because they're "In-Love" and frankly, that's about as bad an idea as making a decision while you're intoxicated.

There are people who believe the answer to all their problems is "but we're In Love!" thinking that somehow, that pays the bills or builds a future.

Contrary to the saying, Love DOESN'T conquer all. Be sure there's something behind the feeling, that you have similar thoughts, ideas, plans for the future and GOALS, cause life has a funny way of happening while you're busy making other plans...

Becauase love like life is unsertain. Even ppl over 35 dont know everything about love or life for that matter. Love is something that you have to have your own interpretation of. and the way you arrive at your knowlede of love is thru experience. Older ppl may think you dont know much about love because you have had limited experiences with love. One day you will be 35 and you'll hear your child say they are in love and you'll think back on all your relationship/love experiences and you will then understand what older ppl mean.

Now take 2 of these and call me in the mornin'

i think it's because they think that you have so much more to live for and that you haven't experienced everything they have. That's obviously untrue, because i know someone who's been through war and terrible heartbreak, and much more and they're only 21. So you can be 13 and know more about love than you are if your 35. They just think when you're young your emotions aren't mature enough to know what love is, but the truth is you know. So who cares what those 35+ year olds say, you know what love is and that's what matters.

If your under 35, people tend to have less one to one experience than those older. Don't be worried, many of them are wrong, and many may be right. Remember that to people over 60, those under 50, don't know much about love either. Einstein said it correctly, "Its All Relative." As you grow older, you'll have that same feeling, when your children think you know little about love.

So, why even bother to listen to what they say ? Not meaning to be disrespectful towards older people, but they think they know a lot yet they're often wrong. The younger generation understands better the world we live in than they do. Just don't let anyone tell you what to do.

it's not like they think we don't know but experience is a teacher. They can see a train wheck waiting to happen when we younsters think we are so in love. Why don't you try taking a page out of their book and learn a thing or two. Don't hate.

Same for those who think that unless you've been living with a person for 2yrs, you don't know love and relationship!
People are very full of themselves and believe that their experience is the best one ever.
Prove them that you can deal with your own relationship!

Because it takes a long time to even begin to scratch the surface of love.

If you haven't experienced love twice then how do you know you are or were in love?

You need a basis for comparison.

So it is my belief that nobody knows love until they have experienced it, lost it, and then found it again.
