I think so. I think since gays emerged in the society many straight men are not as nice to each other, they won't smile at each other as much or pay compliment simply because they are afraid someone will think they are gay. What do you think?

I agree with you although I think that guys hide their emotions for different reasons. There is an acceptance of gays in our communities so being gay is not as taboo as it was before. I think it rather stems from the idea that guys want to be independant, isolated "the lone hero" that has been portrayed throughtout movies and stories. By not showing emotion, guys think they can detach themselves and become "cool" Also, i think its harder for guys to show emotion, physically too. There is a chemical that girls have in the back of their eyes that allows them to cry more. Guys don't have this and thus its harder for us to cry. This may be construed as reason for not showing emotion.
