wow, many steps here, electrical problems are a real pain,,, you didnt mention much in your question, so i assume you have a fully charged battery and a good SOLID ground. cables look good on the outside but can be GREEN BLUISH on the inside,... check the rotor cap and distributor caps too, if both of these are worn, ( looking at both of these will tell you if you see dark blackish smudges on the inside contacts and the rotor is the same on the end,,,,, or sometimes a hairline crack in the cap will do this too...... check out the wire from the coil to the Dist cap, and ALL the plug wires too . if it has modules, could be a blown module too,,,,,, wow,,, sooo many things,, ive only scratched the surface, but should keep you busy for a while....... LOL Good Luck ....... Tom

check for proper ground at the engine if I'm not mistaken this type of car should have a ground strap from the frame to the engine and one from the engine block to the distributor base remember a wire can look good and still be bad you should remove the wire and clean both ends then check for Ohms between the two ends

take your dit cap off and have someone else turn the engine to see if the rotor button is turning if not the cam gear on the distibutor is bad
