TKO means Technical Knockout. It is often declared when the referee or judges decide that a fighter cannot continue the match. If a fighter suffers a concussion and becomes unconscious from a strike with sufficient knockout power, he or she is referred as having been knocked out or kayoed (KO'd). Losing balance without losing consciousness is referred to as being knocked down. Repeated blows to the head are known to gradually cause permanent brain damage, with Alzheimer-like symptoms, and in severe cases may cause strokes or paralysis. Because of this, many physicians advise against sports involving knockouts.

TKO - technical knock out, this is I think if the opponent gets knocked down 3x during the fight and gets up before the count of 10 then it is considered TKO and the fight is ended. Knock Out is just a KNOCK OUT - they don't get up by the count of 10.

TKO stands for Technical Knock Out. It occurs when a fighter is injured and can't continue to fight or when the referee(or coaches) decides to stop the fight because a boxer is taking a beating.

A knock out is when a boxer actually renders a person unconscious and the referee counts to ten or who calls of the fight. A technical knock out is when the referee stops the fight because he knows the fighter has taken too much damage and cannot continue and therefore a technical knock out is recorded.

yes TKO stands for Technical knock out, which means "technically" it was a knockout..for instance if the ref counts to 10 before the fighter stands its said to be a TKO because technically if he wasnt knocked out he could have stood up and continued fighting.
Knock out is when its an "actual" Knockout

The term "knock out", or "KO" is used to denote the boxer, usually, was counted out...IE, knocked down and didn't get up until the referee counted to 10; A "technical knock out" is when a fighter is getting beaten and can't defend himself and the referee steps in and stops the fight.
