i am trying to pick a language for high school and i'd like to know how hard you think it is?

I have looked on a homeschooling demo of the language and it seems pretty cool. a problem is i think it will be hard for me to read and write in it. i have even learned a few words like car (lisara?) girl (bint) etc. correct me if those are wrong.

Correction : Car is : " saiara " ,

And Arabic is not an easy language i admit , i have been studying it since i was in the 1st grade in primary school , its vocabulary is huge , grammar is akind of hard ,
but u must know before studying it , which accent you are going to study , as there's the original Arabic , which all the Arabs would spell in the same way , but it's not used much in talking these days ,
and there's many different accents for the spoken Arabic , i.e. , Egyptians would say how are u as : "ezayak " while Syrians and who are from the Arab Golf would say " Kifak " , in the time it is in traditional Arabic " kaif halak " , u see the difference ?

Please contact me if u need any help with it.

For me Arabic was relatively easy to pick up. I moved out to Tunisia and the only way to communicate with my mother-in-law was through Arabic since she didn't speak English. Just from speaking to her and from hearing others speak I picked it up fairly easily.

My only suggestion: learn literal Arabic because it is understood all over, while the local dialects are just those - local dialects that are basically only known locally.

There also is a website that my brother told me about that teaches different languages, and the troops and some journalists are using it to learn Arabic for when they go to Iraq. If you're interested, I'll incluse the URL.

Good luck.

Well, you ought to explain what you imply by way of Arabic phrases, whether or not you imply Ammiya or Standard Arabic. Sometimes, a few men and women consider that it is a lot more prestigious once they faux to not know the way to talk Arabic safely. If you're asking approximately men and women who use English phrases in most cases for the period of their conversations, you are speakme approximately interference that's a linguistic phenomenon that is average amongst bilinguals in all materials of the arena no longer most effective in Egypt.

I am married to an Egyptian and have been trying to learn the language for about two years. I took French in high school and was very good at it. However, Arabic, for me, is somewhat hard to master.

I have several cd sets and two books and I am still struggling.

Good Luck!
