My boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 years, he was previously married for 12 years, he's been divorced for the past 4 years. We recenly found out that his x- is hiv+. We were both tested - for the virus, is there any need for concern still?

depends on if the test results came back negative or not for HIV.

If it's been 4 years since he had sex with his ex and he tests negative now then you have no worries about HIV. If he ever went back and had sex with her even once, then you both might need further testing depending on when this happened. I might want to get checked for other STDs also, just to make sure all was ok.

Well hopefully you'll both test negative. It's usually harder for a man to get HIV from a woman than vice versa. I was told this by an a nurse who specializes in HIV patients. A person can be infected with the HIV virus for years without even knowing it, but sooner or later symptoms start showing up. Mainly being tired all the time, no matter how much you sleep, it's not enough. Also getting colds, flu, bronchitis repeatedly. Hope this helps and I pray you don't have it.

Take the test in three months. If you have it then he is a cheating b@$tered. It takes about three months to incubate in your body.
