It's interesting that you would say "their" lack of respect its the only job I know where people will have a go at you simply because you wear a uniform....having said that I have been concerned when a couple targeted my younger son as a hoon and harassed him every time they saw him out and about in his car, sadly it happens but I don't blame all police officers for the actions of a couple. There are many many good police officers and they work hard and often in a thankless environment and quite frankly I wouldn't want to do half the jobs they have to do, see the awful things humans do to one another AND I sure as hell don't want to live in a society where there are no police at all, give them a break people, society has reduced their effectiveness and has given the power to the lawless to we want the gangs, drug lords etc etc to be completely in charge???

Saying that you hate cops based on the actions of some is just as retarded as saying that you hate blacks or Jews for the same reason.

There are just as many jack-holes working behind the counter at McDonald's or delivering your mail or packing your groceries at the Piggly Wiggly as there are jerk cops.

You're mad because you can spit in the face of the poor S.O.B who makes your burger wrong, but do that to a cop and you're spitting teeth. You feel powerless. But you're not, you just don't know it.

If the cops do you wrong, start an IA investigation on them. Get their supervisors involved. Contact your city counsel and complain to them that the officers that they're paying are violating the law or violating your rights. If your elected representatives won't do anything about it, contact your local media.

Or you can just come to places like this and try to flip off cops behind their backs while you "Yes, Sir" them to their face. It all depends on whether you want to actually do something to change your situation or if you just wanted a place to whine.

I totally agree with you. You see it is a proven fact that the only reason crime prevails is because of corrupt law enforcement. I wonder why this happens? Well I will tell you what I have learned in talking to people who have vast experience in adminstering psycological profile examinations. I am talking PHD. They tell me that the psycological profile of most law enforcement people is almost congruent with that of a criminal. Why does this not suprise me? For those who don"t believe, check it out. The very nature of the job attracts. ie. The gun, the authority, and I am above the law, because I am the law. I know there are exceptions, but rule of thumb is all of the above.

there are good cops, and there are crooked cops. there are some that use their power how they are supposed to, and others who abuse it. to say that you hate cops is like saying you hate people with blue eyes...you may hate some people with blue eyes, but not all, right? there are bad people in every profession, cops included. i only dislike the crooked ones. i must admit that i hate it when i see them do something like turn on their siren and lights to go through an intersection without having to wait at the light, only to turn them off and go on about their merry way at a leisurely pace. that irks the hell outta me! but, most cops that i've come into contact with have been not only respectful, but actually NICE! even when i got locked up.
remember, if your friend got shot, or you needed protection, the cops would be on YOUR side. they are not all bad. don't generalize.

If your such Law Abiding Citizens, why would you hate them. Would you hate them if they caught and arrested a criminal that had done something to you. Not all cops are alike, so don't judge all of them by the few you know or think you know. That's not fair to them.

Can't say that I hate cops at all. They're generally pretty good folks.

The only time I saw them get mean was when they were goaded into it by some lawbreaker being a jackass. I've never had a problem when I was respectful and polite, even when they were putting handcuffs on me.

They don't take kindly to disrespect or smartassness. They do have the power to ruin your whole day. If you respect that, you'll get along just fine with them.

There are three types of people. Sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. Sheep live their lives unaware of the danger around them. They refuse to believe there is evil out there, since it can't happen to them. Wolves are those who prey on the sheep. They will harm the sheep without remorse. The sheepdog protects the sheep and keep the wolves at bay. Yet the sheep do not like the sheepdog because it looks like the wolf. It has fangs just like a wolf. It is capable of doing harm if it wanted to.
But don't worry if you are in harm's way all you have to do is call 911 and say BAAAAAAA!

I hate cops because they wrong perfectly innocent people. I hadn't had anything to drink for over a month and I had to do a field sobriety test. The cop about beat the sh*t out of me in the process. I did nothing more wrong than not know my tail-lights were out.

No. If you or your friends find attitude of the police difficult to understand then remember that if did that job you would end up with the same attitude as those officers you dislike. On the rare occasions that I have dealt with the police I have always found them very professional and respectful.

I n my case I speak out not against any cop - but against what I see as a presence of evil emerging across the base of all activiites in our society - the police force has and should now examine this and maken correction so it makes sure it will funtion into the future as we know it should but as we all know now is flawed and in a future of prediccted evengreater emrgence of evil we cannot afford this type of rift between fabrics in our commnity and expect to prosper .
