In this link you'll find all the information you need on Prozac.
I would recomend going to the doctor before starting to take it again. You see, there are many kinds of depression, and usually, when you feel "depressed", you are just tense and to overstressed. Only a doctor can tell you if you are clinically depressed, and medicate you.
Just go to the doctor, in the long run, you'll save money if you do it now. Better than finding out that the pills didn't work for you this time. Don't take unnecessary chances with your mental and physical health.
Good luck!

FIND SOMETHING ELSE!!!
The supposed benefits of Prozac are far outweighed by the risks and detriment to the body. An honest doctor will tell no one really has any clue what Prozac does.

It's an anti-depressant medication. I wouldn't take it if you got it awhile back without checking the expiration date on the bottle. If you're feeling depressed, go see a psychiatrist again or GP or FP (General Practicioner, Family Practicioner). Zoloft works good. So does Cymbalta. My mom's been on Cymbalta for 2 years.

I'd suggest trying it if that's what your doc suggests. There are newer, more expensive drugs out there for depression, but the docs tend to prescribe them more frequently becuase the pharmacy companies bribe them to. (I know this for a fact.) Some insurance companies will pay for prozac but not others for this reason. It worked well for me.

An anti-depressant/anti-psychotic prescription. Try prayer. I was on anti-depressants and honestly, they made matters worse. You can try to think yourself better. It worked for me. I just kept praying and telling myself I wasn't sick and I'm drug free, just happy being me. Life is too short to go through it unhappy. I'll keep you in my prayers. Good luck!
