I do believe there is a god, but is it wrong for me to believe in evolution verses creation.

I don't think it is wrong, because it is logical.
I was confused as well, but i think the answer is that ,seeing God is a spirit, we should not mix the spiritual things and the physical things. Allow me to make an example : The physical earth is inhabited by physical people, animals plants etc.; and evolution is a natural process.
The spiritual earth is the mind of man.(Read the parrable of the sower )
The physical things do not last forever, but the spiritual kingdom does.
God, or the Devil, both of them being spirits, can inhabit the mind of man, it is our choice.
We are born physical people, and when reborn, think spiritually as well.
No space to explain my thoughts to you - sorry.
Regards.

It depends on in what respect you mean.

Certain religions believe in some form of a creation story. If you are a part of that particular religion it may be considered bad to accept the theory of evolution.

Does believeing in God prevent you from accepting the theory of evolution (and while it is a good theory it is still just a theory and not 100% proven fact). In my mind absolutely not.

Being that none of us can truly say that we have had a one on one converstation with God (where God spoke back to us directly) how can we know. Maybe evolution was the tool that God used to create the world as it is now?

In either case it's not bad, it just means that you are using your free will, which many believe was given to us by God, to help you understand where the world came from in it's current form. But there will always be those who like highly defined limits who will tell you it is bad.

Believe in evolution versus creation?

that doesn't make sense.

Evolution is a scientic principal explaining why and where living things come from on earth.

Creation is a religious concept explaining the same thing.

By not believing in God you already don't believe in creation. However, it doesn't mean you have to believe in evolution either.

There are a lot of people out there who are not religious but are still skeptical about evolution.

There are 5 types of evolution. 4 are theories and 1 is science.

1) How the universe came into existence.
2) How the starts and planets came into existence.
3) How the earths environment evolved.
4) How life came into existence.
5) How 1 kind of animal (or plant) can have a new variation of it self.

The first 4 are only theory. Only the 5th one is science.

Evolutionist quit often say that because number 5 is science, that it proves the other 4 are science also. But that is not being scientific.

Believing in micro evolution is acceptible.

not really. genesis is so vauge when it comes to the creation story that i can see evolution being a part of it.
i could also see us not originating on the earth. maybe some other people came here and crossed themselves with an intelligent ape of the time and we're the result?
as far as god goes, the creator of all that is, it isn't worried about what you believe, just so you're a good person.
all that stuff you hear the churches saying is something that mankind made up because they couldn't understand their creator.

No it's not bad at all.

Yes you are a bit, confused, but it's okay. We are all a bit confused (most people are just afraid to admit it). In fact no human knows all of the answers, and the more you study evolution, the more holes and flaws you will find. But I say if you're interested, study it anyway, and also study the bible. Also pray and continue to seek God. The more you seek God the more you will find Him. Also the more you study, the more you will learn. Then you can decide for yourself what you believe.

Many blessings.

Who is your god? Do you believe in Jesus. Believing in a god does not get you into Heaven. The Holy Bible states that the only way there is through believing in Jesus as the Son of God. If you believe that, then you must believe in creation. You cannot believe in one part of the Bible and not the other. If so, how do you do that? God and His creations, miracles, etc., are something that you believe in through His gift of faith. If you do not have the Blessed gift of faith, then you are not Spirit filled; if you are not Spirit filled, then you are not saved.

I, also, would like to respond to nice girl's comment. She says that creation is vague in Genesis. It is straight to the point. It lists what God did on each of the days of creation. It is as easy to understand as looking at past events that you marked on your calendar.

There are a number of very good scientists who have no problem with that approach. They assume God is great indeed - great enough to give us brains to figure out how He made the universe work. These good men and women are beyond pretending that God will somehow "reveal" Himself directly through a microscope or telescope. Those are parlor tricks that in their eyes cheapen the whole concept of God, making Him out to be a carney wizard. For them He is revealed in a much more profound way - as the ultimate factor of coherence and purpose, not as some show-off industrial engineer who makes Himself known by "creating" a paramecium's flagellum.

Just my opinion, I don't see how anyone can believe in God and believe in evolution at the same time.... I can see where your confused. Maybe you can talk to a preacher or pastor? I'm sure they could help you understand God a little better.....:)

Why not believe in both? There are ways to understand the Biblical Creation narrative as referring to a guided evolutionary process. Each "day" can be a period of several million or billion years.
