"I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires."

God did give us free will, and by reading the scripture, he also gave us the desire to share with others what we have learned.By the way we live our own lives to witness to others. If we follow his words and the paths that he has set before us then there really is no need for a believer to give there interpertation on the Bible. Not unless your in a discussion with others regarding the scripture. But I don't thinks its creepy or arrogant of people who believe so strongly that they feel the need to verbally share that with others. Its presumptious of them at best, to think that you want to hear it. What I find interesting is that this is your second question posted here regarding the Bible/God, and I have to ask, What is your belief? Do you have faith in God? Or are you a new believer and you just have alot of questions?

I believe it's OK as long as it's in accordance with God's word. If you can back things up with scripture, you're covered. I don't just walk around quoting scripture to people because if they are non believers, it is often overwhelming to them. I want the people I talk to about this stuff to be comfortable around me and be able to understand what I'm saying.
However, you didn't specify the situation so it is hard to say if they were being arrogant or not.

Some people are quite arrogant about their interpretation of what the Bible says, and what God really wants. Some people believe that the Bible is made of metaphors, and interpret it that way. Others go word by word; still others complain that there are too many contradictions in the Bible. I guess that's why there are so many denominations of Christianity.

When people take scripture out of context, when they try to make scripture fit them rather than trying to change their lives to meet the instruction God makes clear, when scripture instructs us, "Those of you who are mature in the Lord, instruct one another and teach the babies, those who are young in the faith." It is a necessary part of Christianity. Usually, people rely on their own church to perform this function. But this is a forum for the open discussion of ideas. And there are plenty of misquotes, misconceptions about the scriptures, about God, and about Christianity in general. If this is creepy, then perhaps you should find a church of your own to rely on for this function of Christianity. Since this is a forum designed for the open discussion of ideas, you should be prepared to experience the misquotes, misconceptions, and misapplication of the scriptures. But don't accept the quotes just because somebody said it, look it up for yourself and verify what the Bible actually says.

Sometimes scripture can be taken different ways..I may recieve sumthing different form a verse in the Bible and my sister can read it and recieve another thing...That's not wrong. Or when a Pastor preaches sumthing and it applies to a certain area in our lives.
However twisitng the Word or adding things of ur own which disagree or are not in harmony with God's commandments and beliefs, that is wrong..

There is only one interpretation of the bible. People who are walking close to God have the same understanding of the Word. People might have a different way of explaining a topic, but it comes around to the same understanding. God is not divided and full of confusion, people are.

Not creepy and arrogant. Hopefully the person prayerfully considered the meaning and asked the Holy Spirit for guidance. It's better than listening to any old sermon and taking it at face value and blindly following a person not talking to God about it.

It's the same reason people burn Harry Potter books. They are simple minded and believe anything is alright as long as it's under the guise of faith -- Just look at the Crusades.

well.. it isn't. Everyone has the right to express their opinion. And yes, scriptures are most probably written by people like us so if they can think and write about something why can't we interpret it the way we think it is or what we think they wanted to say.
