Most of the events in the Bible (the rise and fall of various nations and such details) have been historically verified by secular sources. Those are beliveable however much you may doubt the rest.
A lot of the more debatable portions are also fairly well verified.
The creation account is constantly being researched by reputable scientists. (If you are going to have an opinion on this statement, I expect you do independent research. Read up on what both Darwinists and creatonists have to say and form an educated opinion.)
Archaeology has unearthed more accounts of Jesus' life than most other remarkable people of the era, so there has to be something worth considering there.
Most of the prophecy of the old testament was fulfilled either by historical events or by Jesus Himself. I belive that establishes a precedent of reliability for the rest of the prophecies in the Bible.
The Old-Testament Law was a set of rules and regulations for the nation of Israel. That is "true" in the same way that the Magna Carta is "true."
The Epistles are comprable to the Law except those are based on Jesus as well as the Torah. They can be belived as much as you believe any teacher or philosopher.

We should believe all the Bible.
But we need to understand that the Bible is made up of history, prophecy, laws, songs, parables, etc.
We should not do every thing that is in the Bible, because it not only tells us about what God wants, it also tells us what people did wrong. So we need to use wisdom on this point.

Believe the whole thing. Just remember, the Bible deals with religious Truths, not scientific fact.

The whole thing. I challenge you to search it through and try to find your own questions about it. Some part may not make much sense at first. But ask questions about it to a Christian pastor. Don't be satisfies until you understand what it says. There is power in the name of Jesus! And as corny as it sounds, "the truth will set you free"!

All of the bible is true. However, it is through your relationship with God that the scriptures and it's understanding are unfolded to you. Jesus taught many parables unto the people in His day and they could not comprehend what He was saying. The disciples asked Jesus one day why do you speak to the people in parables? Jesus told them that the secrets of the kingdom of heaven are given unto you, but Not To Them. Likewise, if you are a born again believer the scriptures and it's meaning will be given unto you, but not those who do not believe.

100% of it is true, some of it is metaphorical for learning purposes, and no one can prove or disprove fact. It's all a matter of faith... what you choose to believe.

You should believe the parts that seem plausible to you. Do not believe it simply because someone else tells you to.
