There you go again. The Buddha was not a deity, he was a man. Any book on the subject of Buddhism will tell you that, if you ever bother to read anything other than your bible.

Christianity seems to be the least accepting and closed minded religion there is. If it ain't Jesus. It ain't, or so they tell me . Who's to say that Jesus and Buddha and Allah and Some Alien didn't all walk this earth at some time? Believe what makes the most sense to you, Believe what your Heart tells you. Buddhism has some very fine points to it.As do Most Religions. Think for yourself!

Words can be twisted to one's needs so lets not go along just with them. Yes, Buddhism does worship Buddha and his preachings of selflessness among other things. But they don't believe in any indeterminant supreme power or immortal God.

Buddist don't worship Buddha. There is no ultimate, supreme God in Buddhism.
When was it declared open season on Christianity and Jesus. Not every question allows you to berate them. Some of you out there are really full of hate. Sad.

Buddha is not a deity. Buddha is. Buddha was of this earth and became one with one, not THE one. Think circle rather than vertical hierarchies.

They don't worship in the sense you worship god. It is about respect, discipline & rememberance.
They do not think that Buddha is a deity, they simply follow his teachings.

A Buddhist does not think Buddah was a god. They respect his teachings. Like Muslims respect Mohammed and his teachings, in a way.
Muhammed told people about Allah, and Buddha did not talk about a god. He taught people how to live.
You do not have to believe in god to be a Buddhist.

some people misinterpret athieism to mean anything that doesn't believe in the god/jesus/spirit trinity because athieism is defined as separation from god, but not in the christain sence, but in the divine higher power sence. buddhism has a higher power, and spiritual beliefs of the afterlife (i.e. reincarnation) so they are not separated from god - therefore it is not atheism.
