You can either "believe" in a God through faith alone, or you can rationally conclude that there is a God, which is not belief.

I have never seen or experienced anything that would make me logically conclude that there is a God (or that there isn't, for that matter), and I have never been struck with that faith or non-rationally based belief.

So no, I am a non-believer, an atheist. However as a rational, intelligent being I have to maintain an open mind toward the possibility that there is an omnipotent universal God as well as to the possibility of being given belief.

However it seems logically self-evident that the literal God of the modern Christian bible does not exist. The Bible is impossible to take literally - it's too self-contradictary. And if it's all metaphor, then it cannot provide a literal guide to living as each person must interpret the metaphor in his or her own way.
