They went through the legal process, why cant others do the same? Is their plight worse than others around the world?

Mexicans were used as the primary factor because by far they constitute the majority of all illegal immigrants here in the United States. In addition; they are the vanguards in regarding changing our immigration laws already established.

I think a better questions would have been why do they get special treatment period. They get special treatment over everyone. And they continue to say they are cheap labor. How do they figure:
For example, he sneaks in here with a wife and 5 children.
He takes a job for 5 or 6 dollars an hr.
At that wage, with 6 dependents he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files income tax, he gets an earned income credit of up to $3200. free
He qualifies for Sect. 8 housing and subsidized rent.
He qualifies for food stamps.
He qualifies for free health care.
His kids get welfare benefits, free breakfasts and lunches at school.
He requires billingual teachers and books
He qualifies for relief from hi energy bills
If they are or become aged, blind or disab. they qualify for SSI
Once they qualify for SSI, they can get medicare.
All at taxpayer expense.
He doesn't worry about car ins. life ins, or home owners ins.
Tax payers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material
He cannot be fired, harrassed or sued.
He and his family recieve the equivalent of $20. to $30 an hour in benefits.
Working Americans are lucky to have $5. or $6. an hour left after paying their bills and his.
We also pay for increased crime, graffiti, and trash clean up.
Cheap labor? Sure

For your information immigration laws DID NOT exist until 1920 in the USA. After that, I promise you that millions of our forefathers DID NOT enter the country legally. All of our forefathers were immigrants and many of them were treated like **** because they were new to this country. Many did not speak English yet and many had to put up with lots of racism, fear, and hate.

It is sad that many people forget this fact, illegal IMMIGRANTS have always been blamed for **** like ruining the country. If fact asshole like Geroge Bush are **** ing the country uop NOT illegal immigrants

Mexican nationals make up only about 40-60% of the ilegal immigrant population. They are in the same boat as other illegal immigrants but like any other minority, they get blamed for crap that isn't true.

The problems that immigrants have are the same, Mexican National or not.

Pls use the word 'Undocumented Immigrants' - illegal, we do not know that yet(no law) and alien? Gimme a break, are they from Pluto or Saturn?! Well, no, undocumented immigrants would not get better treatment than documented immigrants. why do you think they do? And btw, 'illegal aliens' as you call them are from around the world, Mexicans are only a % of the whole!

For one thing most of these people who come to the U.S illegally, came here that way because the immigration system does not give them the chance to come here legally, its virtually impossible for them, you either have to have money or have skill and education, so many of them have none of those qualities, so they have no other choice but to come here illegally. I don't think they should be treated as less then human for coming here illegally...i would too if i was poor and knew that next door i could be better off.

Illegal aliens 'should' not get a preference. We will have to decide for our own peace of mind how to handle those are already here, once the border is secure and employer databases allowing verification of immigration status are in place. We should use our own criteria. If that goes in a direction favorable to illegal aliens who have roots here, they will just have lucked out.

How do they get PREFERENTIAL treatment?

Others can't do the same because they don't have: a family connection, special skills, or a lot of money to invest, and they didn't win the lottery held by the immigration service.

They should not receive preferential treatment. The immigration reform is not specific to mexicans, it only arrives in large part to the large number of immigrants from Mexico. I guarantee that the reform language does not say "This is applicable only to those immigrants from Mexico".

INS!! I agree, but it's not just Mexicans coming to America illegally there's other races too. I don't think that illegals should be subjected to just Mexicans they are just the majority of illegals not all though.

They shouldnt! It is really sad that so many other immigrants wait many years and are even seperated from family to do it lawfully. There are many illegals here and NOT just mexicans.
