I believe you do need a hazmat certification, unless you are transporting class 1.4G in a personal vehicle and are transporting less than 1,000 lbs.

It's going to depend on how much and what you're transporting. FMCSR (federal motor carrier safety regulations) will set out how much you can move before qualifying as haz mat. Some, and smaller amount may fall under ORM-D (other regulated materials, domestic) and don't require hasmat precautions. I'd check the website. If what you're hauling requires hazmat endorsements, you'll also have to have a commercial license.

Tough job. Apply for fire-hazard goods permit. Give name of transporters who are having Bank aproved Bilties. Mention full
details of Insurance.Give full address of Consignor & consignee.
Provide Firms registration certificate copy duly attested.Give
sales tax registration certificate. Mention your CST/GST Nos,with validity,with type of form you will give,ie C Form.
Worth supplying firecrackers from Sivakasi to North India.
200% profit.
Subject to they dont burst on the way, or you dont go bust with the formality.

If it is part of your CDL you will need a copy of your Birth Certificate. They will do a background check, but I suspect you don't have enough time to clear it. Get to the DMV ASAP.
