I have this friend who is the sweetest girl alive and would do anything for you. I think I might be wanting to be more than friends but she might not be ready to be. I just wanted to know how can you tell if she is ready?

first, do you know if she likes girls? does she know that you like girls? that can be a huge shock if she doesnt know.
second, its a huge step to go from friends to more than friends - and you cant go back once you do. are you willing to give up the friendship if this doesnt work out?
but if she gives any indication that she does like you, it can be well worth it.

if she likes the same sex. then i think you should just tell her. you never know she might think the same as you.

Don't tell her. Subtly show her. Then see if she picks up on it. Maybe she feels the same.

you have to know her sexual orientation - and how much the friendship is worth to you - once you mix sex and friendship you never know the direction everything will take.
