Does anyone know of any good sandal type shoes that will fit right, stay on while running and playing, not hurt my 2 1/2 year olds foot, etc ??? I can't seem to find anything like this-only tennis shoes but I would like to find something cooler and lighter for summer. ALSO I have a just-turned-one year old who is beginning to learn to walk so also interested in good shoes for her too for summer. She has a very fat foot and it is hard to find shoes to fit her. Thanks so much

The absolute best shoes for kids are Stride Rite!!!!!!! All three of my kids started out wearing them. I just purchased my 15 month old daughter her first pair of sandals. They are a "closed toe" type sandal which helps protect her little toes. They come in many styles and are very cute. For your little, little one, I would buy their basic white walking shoe. Though simple, they give great support.

There are Stride Rite stores OR I've also purchased them at Nordstrom and Dillard's.

I just love them!!!

p.s................ DO NOT go to Target, Wal-Mart, etc for shoes!!! Ever. Feet are too important to buy cheap shoes. You can buy cheap clothing but NEVER cheap shoes. I ALWAYS put money into a good quality shoe................ "feet" are worth it! Without them, you can't get around.

I got my 1 1/2 year old daughter some sandals at Payless, and they don't leave any marks on her feet, and she never complains about them. They have Dora the Explorer on them.

Target -- they have a ton of great sandals at great prices -- I personally like the closed-toed shoes just for safety, and Target has a pretty good selection.
some other links I know of if you don't mind spending the $$, or ordering online
