Yes it is normal. It is so easy to catch the germs from our little ones. The same way it is so easy for our little ones to catch the germs from other people and the outside world. It is kind of annoying to get sick a lot, but you can do things to prevent yourself and your baby from getting sick all the time.
You can buy some antibacterial hand soap that you can bring with you when you and your baby are out somewhere else. Make sure you clean your hands as well as your baby's hands after touching anything or playing outside. The easiest way to get colds and flus is when there is contact with the face and the dirty hands. Since your baby can't obviously control touching his face and mouth and nose all the time, then the thing that you can do is make sure his hands are clean before he touches his face. As for you, make sure you get plenty of sleep at night, eat healthy, take multivitamins, and exercise to boost your immune system so that you won't easily get what your baby has when he's sick.
It's one of the things that happens to parents, especially moms when they have their kids. It's unavoidable, but preventable. So do preventive measures, and you'll get sick less often.
Goodluck!

You really asked and answered your own question:
Kid's are notorious for passing things on to mom and dad, just the way it is.
However, being pregnant does take alot out of a woman and it is possible that your immune system may be on the fritz. Have you had your thyroid checked? Oftentimes if your immune system is out of balance you can get sick alot as your body can't fight off infections like it should.
Your adrenal glands and your pituitary are also part of you immune system. A simple blood test will determine if anything is going on there. See your regular doctor.
You also may just need some rest and vitamins, for lack of sleep will also cause a weakened immune system.
Overall, I bet you are just fine, or the problem is going to be easy to fix
Enjoy your baby... :)

When a baby is forming in the womb. The mothers body will give the the child what ever it needs, If your diet was lacking in something the baby need to form your body took it from you to get it to the baby.
And of course this can have a negative effect on the mother later.
If you are sick all the time (or feel sickish, maybe be a better way to say it) try changing you vitamins to a different brand and drink more fluids, Water, Milk, Juice,,NOT Soda, coffee or tea.
And force yourself to go on a walk every evening take the baby (in a stroller) and go around the block.....You may also want to change your eating habits,,more fish in your diet (or fish oil supplements,,and eat less beef and fried foods. also try fresh veggies like carrots and celery and broccoli,, and fresh fruits..all will help you to feel better and be healthier. Oh and another thing Congratulations on being a mother.....

you can get sick for many different reasons. If you are very stressed out, your immune system is not working at it's highest level. And there are very many strains of the cold virus out there. Once you get that strain of virus you can never get it again because your body has built an anti-virus to it. But again there are thousands, maybe even millions of strains of the cold virus out there.

yes you may be sick way more often. they tend to get sick often due to immature immune systems and since you are constantly playing, kissing and changing diapers with them you are at a MUCH higher and more often exposed to germs. wash your hands alot and take vitamins! good luck

It probably is just because he is passing his illness on to you. He probably gets sick easily, and being around him so much makes you very susceptible to what he's got.
