she dropped in on her dirty floor (with dog and cat hair) picked it back up and put it on a platter and continued to put icing and decorations on it. Should I have talked her out of serving it? I didn't want to insult her?

Eww. Yes, you definitely shouldn't have allowed her to seve it. That's disgusting, and really rude. She must not think a lot of her guests if she lets them eat cake with animal hair on it.

I would have talked her out of serving it. She would not want someone to serve her food after it has been dropped on the floor with animal hair. OMG that is horrible. Sweetheart I would have had to insult her that day. It is not really an insult you would have been looking out for others stomach. Someone may have gotten sick.

You should definitely talk to her about not serving the cake because thats just nasty and gross. What would happen if her guest gets sick or finds out about it during the party. It will just ruin the occasion.

I would have thrown it out when she wasnt looking...thats VERY unsanitary!!!! I hope she did NOT serve that cake to the public.
