what if the bible was just a book?

i believe that the bible was things that people wrote about just like we all write about things that happen in our lives, i believe that jesus was a good man, that was obsessed with his beliefs, i believe we die and our spirits remain, if there was some one like jesus and god why would children be torchered and suffer thats not a god i would want to follow to my death and beyond or a god that would allow satan to become so powerful, in the bible it says if we love god then we are to turn our backs on our family and follow him all these things sound like god is the devil or vice versa

Bravo, you are the first to ever express so freely what I have thought for so long. Isn't it just as likely that if the devil would do so many things to get us to foolow him that he could also theoretically be respnsible for the bible. Idk, anyhow, good job. Best wishes

I don't see how the bible can be just a book. The bible was created by 40 different men. each lived totally different lives at different periods of time and each with different opinoins. But even so, the bible fits together, all of these different people, and they all kind of wrote the same things, or things that agree with each other. Try that now, with 40 diferent people, and i dont think that would happen. God had spoken to those men and told them specifically what to write and thats why the bible makes sense. And i also find it very hard to think that jesus could only be a man. For example, the actor in the passion of the christ, as jesus, in the torture scene, one guy accidently whipped him for real, and the actor had to go to the hospital for a bit,the real jesus however took many whips, plus other torture devices, and of top of that he had to cary his own cross while still getting whipped, i dont think a normal man could have survived that. The reason why theres suffering in the world isn't because of God. God gave all people free will and its the people that choose to do the evil or bad things. If god wanted to control us like puppets and make everything perfect, he would. But God wants us to do good and follow him by our own will, not by force. God knows what hes doing and he knows why he let satan become so powerful, but if there was no satan and no suffering in the world, why would we even turn to God in the first place? We wouldn't feel the need of God, because everything would already be perfect. And nowhere in the bible does it say that if we love God then we have to turn our backs on our family, I dont know where you got that from. It does say that God should be our 1st priority but family is right underneath there, to take care of your wife and children and to love them. not to turn our backs on them. The bible is in fact not a book of fairy tales and it has been studied very thourghly before and has not yet been proven wrong the facts in it are very accurate, if u dont believe me go ahead and research yourself instead of listening to other people. The Bible is not just a book, It is the unadulterated word of God written by consecrated men. People suffer because the heart of man- kind is wicked above all things, to the point that man some times don't even know himself, I challenge you to test God and I guaranteed that he will deliver, Their are things that you have been praying for but, because God didn't deliver on the time in which you think he should have so, known you have doubt, don't allow Satan to cast a Shadow of doubt on you. the Bible is real! Jesus is real! and it's time to stop playing with him and stand up.Satan has no power, the only power he have is what we allow him to have. With -out Jesus we are Powerless, the bible states that "the weapons of our warfare (against Satan) are not worldly but are mighty though Jesus. As for giving up everything to Follow Jesus, Why not? He gave up his heavenly throne to walk among men that we might be saved. he became a curse so that we may be saved!!! Sweet's Give him a chance!!!!

Can you find the scripture that says the we should turn our backs on our family and follow him... I will believe that if your family does not believe, than yes you have to stand up as a christian and be a good example. As for you other questions God is just and all knowing. He has compassion, if these kids are dying, are they not going to a better place? What is a few years suffering for an eternity in heaven???

The Bible was written by men who had the Holy spirit, which comes from God. It is the evil within mankind, that causes the suffering, If we all would listen to Christ and receive His Holy spirit, no one would torture anyone, To turn your back on your family, Christ only meant is your family is not following Him, and His teachings, its better that you leave. Because if not following Christ, then you are doing the will of Satan. He wants people constantly to rebel against the will of God.
