The section says RELIGION and SPIRITUALITY.
It doesn't say RELIGION, SPIRITUALITY and CHRISTIANITY.
Why do they claim this section belongs to them only?

Notice our first "Christian" response?

What make me think they do?

Go to the section and read for yourself.

I asked why SO MANY christians think the section belongs to them.
I did not say ALL christians.

This is not a complaint.
This is just a question.

2006-06-09 06:44:32 · update #4

I am glad that there are so many christians here.
Did I say I was unhappy about it?

I don't think my question is "knocking" a group of people in any way, shape or form.
It is not a statement of my beliefs.
It is simply a question.

There is no payoff for me in the answer to this question.
It doesn't matter to me one iota.

Stop being an idiot and lumping all Christians together. Learn it quick that just because some people do something does not mean the majority do. I am a Christian and I certainly don't think that section is devoted to just Christianity, and I certainly don't go claiming it is just for that. I am also sure that a large number of participants on here are Christian and don't do that either. Grow a brain and learn to think. Should I start lumping some group you are part of as stupid because I have you as a representative? Absolutely not.

No has ever said Christians think this site belongs only to them. Look at all the nasty baiting that gets posted everyday on here. Some of the things are really over the top, they are certainly not Christians.

Just because they outnumber the rest does not mean they are trying to take over (although I will give you that a lot of people seem to think theirs is the right opinion and want everyone to believe it as fact) but get on here and say what you want to say instead. Tell about your religion and/or spirituality instead of giving them more room to talk if that is what you are trying to subdue. Interested on whether or not you really have something under this category that you want to share and talk abut or just want to get people riled up. Please let us know what your beliefs are and what you would like to discuss and I for one would be happy to hear it!

Now, now. It's only natural for people who have a sincere belief to want to promote it, and it's only natural for someone in love to want to tell everybody about their beloved, and Christians are both.

Point out ONE major world religion whose holy book says "Oh, but WE'RE not the only way to God!" They ALL say "WE are the right one!"

Why knock people who are proud of their faith? I mean, just because animism, rastafarianism, santeria, voodoo and wicca (see, I even put them in alphabetical order to avoid promoting any of them above another) haven't built and endowed hospitals, orphanages, universities and cathedrals around the world, why knock Christians?

I don't thik that Christians necessairly think the section belongs to them. I am Christian, I don't think it belongs to me.

I love learning about all of the different things posted though. It's all very interesting.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time finding your niche.

They don't, are you scared because there are so many of us?? I think this is a good sign. And BTW Christianity is a part religion... would you rather us be under the car repair section?

It belongs to whoever thinks its theirs. Well.. for facts christanity has the largest number followers in the world.
They can write a lot about their bible because most of them have read it.. .its inbuilt into the system unlike other religions like Hinduism in which most people don't care to read Bhagwad Gita, leave alone other holy books.

Yahoo answers is mostly in English, and most English-speaking countries are predominantly christian.

It's sorta like Apartheid in South Africa: they had the physical force and willingness to use violence against those they disagree with. It didn't mean they were right.

First I'm not "christian" in a bible-thumping way...I'm basically pagan with some christian beliefs...
Second, lumping all christians together is like putting all blondes in a group and saying they're all dumb (no offense to blondes) or like saying that all pagans are satanists...not fair, not true and not correct or right.
Lastly, tolerance and patience...learn it & use it.

Why does it matter so much. I thought the opposite. Others who are on this section that aren't christians readily reply with answers that are critical and immature. Has anyone stated that this is their section?

I don't think hey feel that it consciously belongs to them, but I do feel that many christians feel that their way is the only right way when it comes to serving God so subconsciously many automatically associate christianity equating to spirituality. Not all though.......
