Yes Homosexuals are discharged if it comes to light that they are gay serving in the military. "Don't ask don't tell policy", from the Clinton area. Historically speaking gays have been apart of every military action, in every civilization. There are some cases in which superior officers have put known gays in the US military on the front line or a very dangerous situation; knowing that they will be killed. Even worse they'll let them stay until peace time and then while on stateside have them discharged without honor.

Yes it can happen, and it does.
There is no regulation stating a service member cannot be homosexual, however there is the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. This rule simply means that no one is supposed to Ask if another is gay, and if you are Gay you are not supposed to Tell anyone.

Yes it can. The armed forces discourage homosexuality, and when you enlist, you sign a form attesting to the fact that you are not gay. If they found out that you actually are, you are immediately discharged. It's like perjury - you lied and were enlisted under false pretenses.

That policy that's been around hundreds of years in most countries. I heard that Iraq used to castrate homosexuals who were in the military, when they were "discovered."
Where were you when "don't ask, don't tell" was being talked up?

Ever since Clinton, has been policy of military to discharge gays, if they are open. This is kind of stupid. Gays in the closet are a security risk, gays who are open are not, all things being equal.

Yes, which is one of the stupidest things ever. People who don't ever want to go into the military have to fear a possible draft policy in the future because men and women who are able and willing to go are rejected because of their sexual preference. Sad, sad, sad.

Yeah, and thats how some people get out. They tell their supervisor that they are homosexual. Though sometimes they are asked to prove this.

That's how I'm hoping to ever avoid having to do anything with the army. I'll just let them know I'm gay. Woot.
