My neighbor recently took in a stray kitten. I would place it at being maybe 4 weeks old but I'm not very sure. She has been "crying" alot and I can hear her from our house, but she is VERY friendly!!! When we come outside she runs over to our house to be petted and then will begin climbing on things that are on our porch. I'm worried that she was too young to be away from her mother but I know our neighbor won't take her to the vet unless something is visibly wrong with her. They say she can eat hard food but . I wasn't sure if the "crying" was over missing her litter mates/mother or if it could be something else.

The eyes are a greyish color...not blue but not green either. It's a Tiger! The neighbor is NOT going to take them to a vet!!! He can't afford to take each kitten that shows up on his porch in for shots and such...but he is the type of guy that will not refuse feeding and giving it water and love. They stay outside...which means he could take it in and pay $60.00 for a full work up just for the kitten to decide to go else where the next day. As I said...he would only take them to the vet if they were visibly ill or injured. Other wise he just makes sure they have food and water and lets them go.

Another thing though is she shakes really bad. Acts timid but will come up to us as long as we move slow. She loves to be held and rubbed.

Look at its eyes, if they're still blue then its not weaned and still needs milk. Take whole cows milk and crush some tums up in it and add a few drops of infant iron drops it will get everything it needs from that or if you have a baby their formula is great. You can also buy milk just for kittens but it can be pricey. As far as the crying goes give it a warm water bottle covered w/ a towel and stuffed animal. He misses his Mommy!
Good Luck
