Having seen people wearing all types of clothing in court (and I do mean *all* types), I'm relieved you've taken the time to ask the question. Please, please do wear a conservative suit with stockings and simple flats or low heels -- nothing too high or flashy. Keep make-up and jewelry minimal; too much of either will distract listeners (i.e., judge, jury, lawyers) from what you have to say. You might also want to consider taking off any bright nailpolish for the same reason. In all of the above (suit, make-up, nailpolish), muted tones are best. Wear your hair conservatively; if it is long, I would suggest pulling it back.
If all of this feels too stifling, try wearing something quirky that no one can see, like sexy underwear or something -- I know the first time I went to court (I was a law student at the time), we were angry because we were told all of the women *had* to wear skirt suits -- no pants! So my friends and I all bought garters and thigh hose to wear underneath! Nobody ever knew, and we got to feel like we were pulling one over on them:)

Dress the same way u would if u had a job interview...
Never wear a hat, chew gum, or leave your Walkman and headphones on in a Courtroom.
Never but never permit your cell phone or pager to be turned on in the Courtroom, leave it locked in your car. Don't make rude noises.
Don't put your elbows or arm up over the seat, in front or behind. Keep your legs and feet out of sight.
Judges get very upset when people in the summer wear shorts, light flimsy tops, revealing necklines, bare belly buttons, and bare shoulders.
Shirts should be tucked in and buttoned up.
Belts should be fastened. Shoes should be worn.
If you wear a T shirt (and I don't recommend it) make sure it doesn't bear any anti-social slogan.
Ripped T shirts will result in an angry Judge or Justice of the Peace.
Dress in good quality clothing, what you would wear to a job interview in an office, or what you would wear to a wedding or church. This is important to show respect for the Court.
When you are standing in front of the Judge do not put your hands in your pockets. Try your best to find a seat. You may have a long wait. If you stand near the door you may be asked to wait outside because of fire regulations.
Open and close the courtroom door(s) quietly. Don't let a door squeak or bang. Perform a gentle bow at the doorway when you arrive and leave if the Judge is on the Bench. Stand and remain silent when the Judge enters or leaves the courtroom.

Dress conservatively. This means no revealing clothing,no tube tops,no spaghetti- strapped tops,no low- risers,no shorts,no minis,no halters. You are not going to a party,so no party attire or club attire.Jeans are also not a good idea.Wear a suit if you have one.A long-sleeved shirt, dressy slacks or skirt and a cardigan or jacket would be appropriate if you don't have a suit. Do not wear sunglasses inside of the court room.

Wear a sharp outfit. Like something you would wear to a job interview. A skirt or dress pants and a suit/shirt or a blouse. Wear heels! Just think of it like having to impress everyone there, so you wanna look professional

I had a lawyer tell me to wear a dress or nice pantsuit that is navy, gray, or brown. Be very conservative. Do not wear flashy jewelry. Always wear low or no heals. Do your hair as if it was your grandmother you were going to see.
