People began calling it the "bible" after Constantine gave it the ponderous name: "Roman Emperor Constantine's, the Wonderful and Great God of the Universe and the Known World, and Mighty Ruler over all within,. Inspired Stories of Awe and Wonder, Taken from Hebrew Myths and Legends which were taken from many other cultures, mainly Sumerian, Babylonian and Greek, and Forced on Roman Citizens Under Penalty of Death for Rejecting these Fanciful Tales of Myth and Legend Invented by the Wonderful and Mighty God of the Roman Empire and All Within, the Roman God Constantine the Magnificent."
That was too much to put on the cover page, so they reduced it to "Book of Babble" which became "Bible."

The word Bible comes from the Greek word "Biblos," which is translated "book." The original manuscripts of the Bible were kept in the synagogues. Those who had custody of the manuscripts first used the Greek word to describe the collection, which later became known as "the Book." I hope this helped.

It is derived from the Greek word bi·bli′a, which means “little books.” This, in turn, is derived from bi′blos, a word describing the inner part of the papyrus plant from which, in ancient times, a “paper” for writing was produced. Various written communications upon this type of material became known by the word bi·bli′a. Thus, bi·bli′a came to describe any writings, scrolls, books, documents, or scriptures or even a library collection of little books.

Your thoughts are probably no more coherent than babble so that would be why that sounds accurate to you. It was always called the good book so the meaning has to stem back to biblios and was changed to Bible for being THE book.

The wore Bible comes from the fact that God;s Word was written in a book. Jeremiah 25:13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
