There is nothing wrong with dating a guy who is older than you because he is more mature than the guys around your age. Females tend to mature faster than males, so it really evens out as far as maturity levels go when a older guy dates a younger girl. It's pretty normal in a relationship for the guy to be older than the girl. Of course you have to draw the line somewhere. When you are younger, you should set a limit (I think) as to the oldest age guy you will date. For example if you are 17 you should set the limit at 3-5 years older than you in my opinion. Once you get older, though, age is less of an issue and you will barely notice the age differences.

Follow "The Formula:" your age minus seven, times two equals the maximum age you should date.
This keeps the age difference small for younger people and opens the range up as you get older
Examples:
(14 - 7) * 2 = 14
(16 - 7) * 2 = 18
(20 - 7) * 2 = 26
(22 - 7) * 2 = 30
(26 - 7) * 2 = 38
(30 - 7) * 2 = 46

It depends on how old you are. If you're 20 and the guy is 30 it won't make a lot of difference because both are mature adults. But if you are 15 and the guy is 25 the difference in mentality would be too great. I speak from personal experience, between adults a relationship with a big age gap can work perfectly but not when one of them is too young or immature.

I think if you want the relationship to last it is usually better to stick with people around your age. Especially with people in their 20s dating order (30s+) there are huge maturity level differences and differences in life goals at that time, so it usually doesn't work out well. As you said, the younger ones are usually immature, but if you date too much older, they are usually looking for someone to boost their ego (look at the young hottie I have) and not as much for a deep meaningful relationship.

My wife and I will celebreate our 11th wedding anniversary tomorrow. She is 33 and I am 48! She took a chance when she was 21 going on a blind date with a 36 year old man! She too was always attracted to older men. Obviously I will tell you that the age difference doesn't matter at all. She keeps me young and we keep each other very happy!
I hope you find someone some day that makes you as happy as she makes me! Good luck

No, age should not matter. Maturity is not a one to one relation to age. If you find older men more appealing then that just means you're probably more mature for your age as well. Which is a good thing. As an older man, I enjoy the company of mature young women. So it goes both ways. Follow your heart and mind and you'll be happy. Good luck to ya.

Psychological age and chronological age are not the same thing...and for the most part many men are still little boys, so it's no wonder you like older men.
If he he's good to you and you guys get along, share the same beliefs, then age really doesn't matter (unless you're 19 and he's 80! Then I would have to call you a gold digger!)
Good Luck!

As long as the 2 of you are of a legal age I think that the age should not really matter...immaturity comes in all age groups what really matters is that you 2 are compatible and make one another happy

Well,it's your choice, for example Kate Holms is 17 years younger than Tom Cruze.Same with Brad Pitt and Angalina Jolie, they're few years apart to.If you care enough about the man then great but,you have to know that he won't be able to do some off the stuff u do if he's 15+ years older than you.

It all depends on the age difference. I prefer older guys as well. I'm 20 and my ex is 24, yet I was still more mature than him. If you told me your age and the age range of what you're willing to date I could give you a better opinion.
