i have some close friends that are very good at using necromancy or the spell energy they get from the dead. spider was a friend for a long time and he was an adept at necromancy. i am a wizard and i use other forms of magick building, it seems to me disrespectful for me to use the energy of the dead but spider does it daily. has some amazing books on it and im not talking necronomicon. h.p. lovecrafts joke of a serious magick book.

Oh, yes, its still practiced. Its just that most folks don't call it necromancy anymore. Mediums (one who communicates with the spirits of the "departed"), Channelers (one who communicates with other worldly entities), certain forms of ritualistic High Magick (during which ceremonies either spirits of deceased individuals or spirits of other types may be called upon). Its there, it just falls under the heading of "psychic" for the most part nowadays. ~ Peace & Blessings ~

Necromancy is really magic. It is practiced in ALL religions without exception whereby you ask god or gods or spirits or supernatural beings or spiritual things or whatever to do your bidding like healing you, giving travelling mercies, helping you to win the lottery, making your neighbour fall sick and die, etc. etc. etc

Invocing the dead is still practiced widely in the Roman Catholic Cult! They pray to many dead people who their chuch claim they have sainted. They ALL pray to Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus. They have even elevated her to godhood - calling her the mother of god, therefore a godess herslf.
