I am guessing that this will be an interior door between an attached garage or utility room and the living space of the house. You are looking for a solid core door, but you do not mention whether it will be painted or stained and varnished. There will be a price difference between the two. I also assume that it is a standard sized door and that you will reuse the existing door frame, hinges, and lockset.

Best bet is to use the services of a local handyman. Since you are a Yahoo user, why not try the Yahoo Yellow Pages:

Good luck with your search.

This job should only take a couple of hours plus travel time to pick up the door. Total labor should be under $275.00.

The 6 panel door planks are available at Lowe's, Home Depot, or your local lumber company. The price for a primed solid core door (3-0 x 6-8 is normally the largest standard size) will be less than $100.00. If you need a wood door suitable for staining, the price will be less than $200.00.

If you require a one hour fire rated door, chances are that you will need a steel door. The best option is to buy a prehung unit. A good painter can use faux finish techniques to achieve a stained look, or it can be painted. Total cost for the door unit should be less than $300.00.

None of the above estimates include painting.

As you can see, worst case scenario, you should be able to get out of this for under $575.00.

Good luck with your project.

RE:
How much should it cost to have a fire-rated, panel door installed (labor and materials)?

I had a therma-tru 20 min fire rated door purchased and installed for about $800 - but that was 10 years ago.

It really depends on the door you buy and who you have install it as to how much it will cost in total. Just make sure you check to make sure you don't violate the warranty when you're choosing your installer.
