I would say..give dad a whole day to himself. Like write him out a gift certificate..free of any "honey-do" requests. Let him laze around the whole day and evening..make him an excellent dinner, etc.

My husband would LOVE that gift..but it would cost me too much..I can't afford it.

Whatever dad considers his favorite past time or hobby, that's a great gift.
Outdoor dads like hammocks. Reading dads like gift cards to bookstores. Eating dads like new grills. Fix it dads always like new tools are cool tool boxes.

Take him and mom out for a nice dinner., shirt, belt, shoes, ties, $$$, car, new tv, grandchildren, landscape garden.
