School is out, and I'm starting 7th grade in July. 7th grade will be my first grade in middle school because in my district, 6th is in Elementary. Luckly, my whole class in going too, and the girl I have a crush on is in my class. For me, it seems impossible she will like me. I don't want to ask for her phone because she'll know I'll like her. And I'm shy in the class, and my class is kind of crazy when there is a "couple". What should I do?!

Why don't you want her to know you like her?

Lifes too short, give her your number. It's stupid to waste time playing silly games.

Who cares what your class thinks...they are a bunch of dumb kids. If you don't do it will you regret it?

I say go for it and ignore your classmates. They'll grow up in a few years...

I agree with the first answerer.

When you live your life saying yes to your fears, you miss out on SO much -- actually you miss out on your life! Say NO to your fears and YES your heart. This is what it means to live courageously.

Most kids your age are scared of looking foolish to their friends but don't yet realize that the fear they feel -- that desire to not be foolish --is actually cowardliness. I was like that; geez who's never lived their life for other's approval? I don't give a flying fig what anyone thinks about me anymore, and guess what? You can do the same now, by taking action against the fear and following your heart instead. There is nothing more admirable, powerful or brave than a person who says NO to fear and YES to their heart. The girl you like will notice your unusual courageousness, trust me! (this doesn't mean that she'll necessarily return your feelings, but that's a risk worth taking!)

And the best part is: the more you live your life like this; with courage to follow your heart even when you're scared to, the easier it will get to do this, and the better your life will become. And the better YOU'LL become. Because living courageously from an open heart makes you irresistably attractive. Fearless people are amazing people, always.

If I had known this simple truth at your age, I would have saved myself so much grief. Try it and see! Make this your mantra: I say NO to my fear and YES to my heart!

Ah, memories. Believe it or not, eventually, you'll outgrow even caring what other people think about you liking someone. As for this girl, I know it's scary to ask her for her phone number, but it's a good way to build your confidence. After all, if you don't ask her, & you two never get the chance to go out, you'll always wonder "what if...?" about this. Second chances are rare, too. Believe me, I know. I just recently ran into a girl I had a crush on in high school & never had the guts to ask out or even knew how to let her know I was interested. Now, there's a chance she & I may actually go out on a date soon... 15 years later. Take the chance, because you might not get another one in 15 years like I am today. Best of luck with your girl, & hopefully some of it will rub off on me in relation to mine.

Don't sweat it. Just be friends with her. A rose smells just as sweet when it's in the vase as when it's on the bush.

You're too young to worry about this stuff... Just enjoy your childhood and play some sports...

Sounds like you don't have any balls yet. Wait until you're older and have grown some balls. Then tell her (don't ask her)
