I moved schools two years ago and since I came to my new school, everyone treats me as if Im retarded or something because I'm shy. None of the boys I like like me back and I have only one real friend. The only reason people actually acknowledge my presence is because I have a good singing voice( at least better than average). At my old school, at least I had friends and boyfriends even thogh looking back I think they only liked me for my body. HOW DO I GET PEOPLE TO LIKE ME FOR MY PERSONALITY AS WELL?

Well, i had a friend with your very deliema. Basically, you relize something, and thats the guys who are going to notice you for your personality aren't going to notice your body nearly as much. More or less, you have to speak up more, seem smart, get involved in common little debates that make you seem smart, and get the word around you exist. Sooner or later someone will come along, but remember, theres going to be more body lovers than personilty

Make a project out of talking to one or two, or three or four, or whatever other number of people every day at school. Recognize that this will be a little bit scary at first, so just have "small talk" conversations, keep them short, and walk away.
If you sing in a choir or small choral group, hang out with those people after practice and concerts and such. Meet other musicians and hang out with them. Make friends with people in the drama club or whatever the equivalent is - and try out for plays, too, because if you can sing you probably can act well enough to get in the school musical.
Forget about boys for a while. They'll come find you, trust me.

Huh!?!?
First: why are you shy? Are you hiding something that you don't want anyone else to know about?
Second: The good news is the number one attract er for men is beauty. Period. There is no getting around that (sorry girls, its the truth!)...
Third: However, beauty is NOT the only thing that attracts guys, if you want folks to like you for your personality then you need to let them in.
Shy is kind of cute at first but gets really boring, really fast. Learn how to be more open and let people get to know you. Don't make it so difficult for them.
