I'm Lactose Intolerant! Lactaid milk is milk with out lactose and not soy milk . If you buy the 100% whole lactaid milk it taste just like regular milk. The pills work too but they due lose affect because the body become immune to it like everything. I use the pills to the point that the recommend dose doesn't work & its not worth the money when it does nothing. I skip dairy and I'm totally healthy with out it. But go to a Allergy Specialist get tested because there are numerous food allergies and test the can clearly point out what allergy you got.

Well I am lactose intolerant, and I have an alleargy to milk. I can eat soy... Two of my children are lactose intolerant but do not have my milk alleargy. Yes there is a difference. So they can drink the lacto free milk, or take the pills to help them with the lactose. Look for lactade and there are a couple of others, Not to far from the gas or upset stomach products.
There really is no worry, my Aunt can not have milk or soy. Just get good vitamns and you will be fine.
If you are badly alergic to soy then you need to be careful. They are frying most potato chips in soy oil... They are putting soy in just about everything now.
Eat right and stay healthy.

I am lactose intolerant. I cannot eat any milk sugar, whey and hundreds of other names for milk. Suggestion of what also works for me: Eliminate all pork and all seafood from your diet. Can't hurt. It helped me. I do not eat soy. I do use lactose free products such as milk & margarine. Check out lactose intolerance in your browser. Results on wikipedia.com and yahoo search and thru google. I don't use products that supposedly help because they do not such as lactaid. Avoid roughage: raw vegetables, cereal, wheat. No carbonated drinks. Best way to know for sure is eliminate something you eat every two weeks. Keep a journal. It works for me. Hope some of this helps.

You may want to do a web search for a "fructose free" diet, as that has been my answer to being allergic to wheat and being lactose intolerant...works very well for me. Otherwise, I drink rice milk. Doc suggested that rather than the soy as many are allergic to soy products, and I have many food allergies.

My entire family is lactose intolerant. We drink Lactaid. We also eat lactose-free cheese and ice cream. If you eat macaroni and chesse stay away from the box varieties. buy the plain macaroni in the bag and make your own chees sauce with the lactose-free cheese and milk. Anything that requires cheese or milk substitute it with lactose-free products. The milk is great;you really should try it!

I am lactose intolerant as well..
Have you tried rice milk?
There is also a product called Lactaid. They claim it to be "milk without the discomfort".
As long as I don't go nuts and drink glass upon glass, it works great.

I am lactose intolerance and I still eat dairy products-I just take a lactose pill before I eat dairy. The best thing that works is a disolvable chewable tablet called "Lactaid Fast-Act"and they sell it at Wal-Mart or local drug stores. It always works for me!

don't eat dairy products or soy products. Try lactaid. They also make lactaid cottage cheese. Also try rice milk.
