My last name is Corcoran. It is pronounced phoenetically. (like "core core anne"). Its soooo easy but people always pronouce it so poorly, or mis spell it.
usually its prounounced with "cock" in it.
I even once got a letter to "Mr. Cockram." I kept the letter

My last name is very weird. It doesn't have any vowels in it. It's spelled RYSZ and pronounced Rizz (or the true Polish way to say it is Rish). I get people pronouncing it Ritz, Rice, Rose, Rise...I can go on and on.
Joellen is a very pretty name! It's unique.
Oh and my first name is Katie. It's not short for anything but I always get called Kathy or Katherine. THAT'S annoying!

It started in gradeschool and continues to this day. My name is spelled Marlyne (Danish spelling)-but am always called Marilyn!
I sold some of my private book collelction in the Antique Trader which went worldwide and got a letter from a gentleman in Tiwane, Republic of China addressed to Mr. Marlin B! (sthink I mispelled Tiwane!-no spell check on the screen right now1)
A Sr. High Biology teacher threw an erasure and hit my forehead because I did not answer to his 'Marilyn"-boy someone would sue if they did that today! I worked as a clerk typist during WW2 in a Sioux Falls Air Force Base-S.D. and to avoid the hassel, began to sign legal papers with "Marlene"-dumb, I know but fortuantely someone informed me of it's illegality. Duh!

My name is Andrina
People call me Audrey, Andrea, Ariana, Audrina, Adrian, Adriana Adrina, (long A sound on the first A), Adina and even Katrina. A little girl used to call me Ogena but I found that one so cute I did not mind.
I have gotten so used to it I even respond to the mispronounciations now.

My aunt has the same problem.. Jeryl. People can't spell or pronounce it and always think it's a guy's name. She hated it growing up. She named her daughter Jennifer so that she would not go through the same experience.

I don't have problems with misspellings or with it not being pronounced correctly. However people have a hard time remembering that my name is Veronica and not Vanessa, Virginia or Valerie.
The worst was when I got married and the pastor said, "Do you, Victoria, take this man....."
